I think we need a guideline for the LR threads. One that shows up immediately when someone makes a new account. Looking at the ban list...... IPL has produced near 200+ bans in the course of what, 4 days? That's ridiculous.... It's very hard for newcomers to post on TL.... and I know we have all sorts of threads dedicated to helping them. But it's the LR threads that kill em :/ With that being said, do we have a LR guideline thread?

The people that get banned in the LR threads are doing crap that they know not to do if they've read the Ten Commandments thread. The amount of nonsense that goes on in those threads really is painful, though. I've read a couple of people suggest that TL start drafting LR-thread banlings, and I kind of like the idea. I don't think I've ever read a LR thread where there weren't at least a few normal human beings posting, and if they could just play whack-a-mole in the LR threads it would free up the other mods to do less horrible things.

Even if they all got sent for review, it would be less work for the full time mod staff.

Like I said before, a guide's not necessary but it doesn't hurt to have one either. Anyways..... I would make the guide myself but unfotunately, being a computer illiterate, I have no idea how to make it all nice and organized like other guides.... and therefore it would just be a cluster of information unappealing to the audience :[

You're there to be excited and cheer on your favorite players and teams, be happy if they win, and be sad if they don't. But if you went to a super bowl party and just spent the entire time criticizing the commentary, criticizing the coaching decisions, criticizing the dip, whining about calls that didn't go your way, then nobody is going to like you. Because you're being a dick and you're making it hard for other people to enjoy the game. So treat a LR thread like you would an actual gathering of people. Don't be annoying. You won't get banned for posting a one liner in all caps if something awesome happens, but you will get banned for being an annoying prick.

Basically, every one of these people are pro weight lifters that know more about SC2 and the scene (and eSports in general!) than anybody ever in the history of forever will ever know. I'm glad i've kind of stopped posting a lot in LR's, even if the average GSL LR is much better than one-day events and the like, they're painful all the same ![]()
