Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion. For regular posters, don't quote the trolls.

But Hey Just like gay People i'm not gonna Hide My true self just to because certain people "May" not like it. Being true to yourself is probably the best part of being Human.

All I know is, Gay men are Way too Foward with their sexuality, not that it bothers me, cause straight guys can equally be that way. Maybe I'm just part of that reserved group of Males who find sexuality is more of an affection thing. How much you care for someone, and like to keep that for someone special and not to throw around. I actually like the Aspect of this conversation about Why people are gay. As a Self aware human being, I thought about whether or not I was potentially Gay. (being good looking and reserved with macho friends meant I was gay for some reason ![]() Because let's be honest, men are also attractive. But When I say attractive I mean, well sculpted, features are desirable. Bottom Line it doens't come down to gential preference. More of that Heart Melting feeling. If you stand infront of a really Hot girl, she walks up to you and asks you a question. If you're heart starts to pound louder, and you instantly "Feel" something emotionally. You're 100% not gay. For me, That was the Key factor to determine if I had Bi-sexuality within. I can talk to any guy out there, and I know in me I won't feel anything like I do with a Lady. (tested) I think being attracted to men, is just a combination of genetic factors. And I think it started when humans had the potential to support large communites. Because Men naturally grouped together for survival needs. Too me it's only natural that men developed affection for one another equally to having affection for women. Being "gay" is not something wrong, or genetical mistake. But simply an amplification of male to male admiration and affection as Men also need other men to survive. Our Human emotions are very raw and we even create emotions through rationalization. Too me, this falls under that category of psychological human changes. Personally. I'm just bored, and Gay people should find each other I guess. Time for a Bad Joke. I wonder how many Fans a Gay pro SC2 Player would have. this is a truly strange post, and I'm not just talking about the random assortment of caps.

Funny, im gay and I agree, Im just a very private person. now about gays becoming gays, I dont know why people make such a big deal out of it, like discovering the cause would shatter cultures or something. Im a psychology student, and ill tell you what every reasonable scientist will, its about 1/3 genotipic and 2/3 envyromental As someone who is gay, I always felt like this was there, my life experiences allowed it to come forth in a healthy way. The reasons that led to someone being gay are debatable, and will in almost all cases end up with the subject saying he always had this tendency, sometimes overwhelming other times not as much, but they didnt few ultra pressured by their envyroment to deny it. Like any other behavior, displays of "gayness" can be punished until all members of society just know that this is something they should fight to keep out of their lifes (one of the reasons many gay people feel like they just were, is because most Bi people who could opt into gayness is thwarted from doing so because of the costs that society imposes on anyone with said behavior. Im not gonna keep going but before leaving ill say this read my signature

I like to think we were friends. Which term do you guys prefer? Gays or homosexuals? I think the world would be worse off without homosexuals. Your sentiments and concern are appreciated, but the unfortunate fact of the matter is that you can absolutely never ever win when trying to describe gay people's sexuality without offending someone. Allow me to elaborate. (All information provided below should be taken as only-partially-informed opinion, from a West Coast Canadian university-age perspective) Gay (adjective): This is a really good descriptor for a lot of gay men (cue laugh track). Unfortunately, some take umbrage to the associations it has with the historical portrait of the gay community (ie, loud, promiscuous, politically left, activist) and complain that it doesn't accurately describe their lifestyle or identity. Others feel that it's not fully descriptive of their sexuality, if they are, so to speak, "gay with an exception (or two or three)", if they are emotionally attracted to women but physically attracted to men, or if they are really just super gay but want to feel special (no bias here, move along...). Gay as an adjective is rarely offensive, and can even be used to describe gay women! Except when it can't. (To illustrate: How many lesbians does it take to screw in a lightbulb? THAT'S NOT FUNNY! *removes tongue from cheek*) Few bears can resist Babydaddy as he is both gay and hot, and those who do will surely succumb to iNcontroL's cubby appeal. Gay (noun, singular): If you say "I think he is a gay", that makes you sound like a hick and a hater (no judgements). I think that one might have been a gay. /twang. Just to make your life harder, lesbian (noun, singular) is pretty much universally liked, while lesbian (adjective) to describe people is pretty much unheard of. You probably already knew that though. Lesbian (adjective) is often used for inanimate objects and the intangible (ie, culture, music, writers :D). Lesbian writers need not be lesbians. Gays (noun, plural): Commonly used and inoffensive. Except when it is. For some it's the go-to collective for gay MEN (for gay women, this doesn't fly), but for others it's offputting. I've heard some say that it sounds like you're trying to make the people in question out to be something terrifying, along the lines of "RUN! THE GAYS ARE COMING!" (teehee). On that note, "The gays" == definite nono, while "gays" is (potentially) OK. My milkshake brings all the gays to the yard. Homosexual (adjective and noun): To me, it sounds clinical, to others it's comfortable. The thing to keep in mind is that very few pro-gay entities refer seriously to anything gay as "homosexual" (except when it rhymes, alliterates, or goes well in a haiku) in a non-scientific context. On the other hand, some anti-gay groups make it a policy to use the word "homosexual" (often complete with the scare quotes) because it sounds scientific and clinical, like a condition or a disease. "Gay" tends to remind people of the things they typically like about us (culture, GBFs, etc.), whereas "homosexual" doesn't. Therefore, you might not want to use "homosexual" uninvited, as it may give the impression that you do not respect the notion of someone identifying as gay. Semaphores incorporating auburn, burgundy, ochre, fuchsia, lavender, periwinkle and moss coloured flags are used to disseminate the homosexual agenda. Queer (adjective): On the West Coast of Canada and the USA, queer as an adjective is at the moment the golden term, largely due to being a relatively recent imagining. It was created as a part of and then overshadowed what's commonly referred to as the alphabet soup. Alphabet soup is the term for the evolving community acronym that likely begun before LGBT (but I wasn't around for that), then ended up as LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered), and somehow along the way ended up as LGBTTTQQAI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, transitioning, two-spirited, queer, questioning, asexual, intersex) or something resembling that. This noticeably EXCLUDES those who identify as bigendered (identify as some mix of "male" and "female", however you like to define those), genderqueer (people who feel the male-female axis has too low dimensionality to describe their gender identity, or people who do not identify as gendered), pansexual (likes people, whatever that means), kink/BDSM (who are traditionally BFFs with the queer community, to exaggerate slightly), or any number of other things. This noticeably INCLUDES "queer", which is a term that avoids this huge run-on mess in the first place, so we just scrapped the rest of it. Queer is intended to describe all non-heteronormative (white house with a white car and a white picket fence and a white lawn) gender and sexual identities equally, but LGBT is often used and few would get in a flap over you using it. I have heard that in places such as Toronto and the Maritime provinces, Queer (adjective) is still seen as pejorative. I got tired of referring to myself as a Kinsey-5 bi-dyke in a poly relationship with a male primary and just started to say that I'm queer. Queer (noun): An old pejorative that is now acceptable when used by queers (or allies) when communicating with queers (or allies) in an area where "queer" is the proper adjective to describe a collection of such people. I have hardly ever heard this used non-pejoratively as a singular (except in jest), as many queers will love to confound you with some multi-syllabic term to perfectly describe themselves in great specificity. Such a wonder term is not often possible when referring to multiple people, however, so the more general "queers" is used. "They say blondes have more fun. I say queers have more fun. And, blonde queers, well they have the most fun." -Jake Shears, brunette "I ain't a queer!" -Heath Ledger as Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain, queer MSM (adjective...?): Stands for "Men who have Sex with Men". This can be used to describe male-identified individuals who identify as heterosexual or something that typically doesn't include having sex with men, but have do it anyways (at any degree of frequency). This is also used to collectively refer to men of any persuasion that has sex with men (ie it collects heterosexual but MSM, gay, bisexual, and any other such group). People who are MSM cannot donate blood in Canada and the United States if they have engaged in sexual activity with men after 1977. And the list goes on... I think I've covered the major ones that pertain to men though. TL;DR - just use gay (for men, at least), and LGBT or queer for a collective, and then just weather the storm if they happen to get offended. It's seriously not your fault.
