Maybe it's different in a homosexual scenario but if someone got laid because of their voice I would typically say the came out not looking foolish rather the latter is the fool. I'm also curious of how you heard that England's stance towards DeMuslims ENGLISH accent is considered really sissy. I didn't realize he was that large of an icon that the United Kingdom actually sat down and had a discussion concerning his testosterone lacking call. | ||

Apparently the way he speaks is very "posh." And that way of speaking catches some flak. I read that on these very forums...which in retrospect means it's probably a blatant lie. | ||

Luckily it's not a hard accent to pull off for me so every time I'm State side I just take my accent a couple of notches up the class ladder... | ||

There are plenty of people in the U.K. who wouldn't have a go at someone over their accent. But the basis to the stereotype is most likely based on frustration about inequality and privilege - traditionally speaking, posh accents are associated with people from richer backgrounds and often advantages in jobs/universities with who knows who and so on; though that's less true than it was on the past. So I guess a similar idea in many respects to the Occupy movement. But it's still a stereotype, the majority (particularly educated people) would not have a go at someone's accent in anything more than a friendly banter sort of way. | ||
