Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion.

For regular posters, don't quote the trolls.

I've been to lots of cons too, and trust me, it's not their fault. A lot of people have been up for days on end with no sleep, organizing events, going to every single panel and signing they can go to, all the while running around trying to fit in food and rest whenever they can. It also doesn't help that a lot of the big cons are held during the summer time, and in large enclosed spaces with large amounts of people running around, the bacteria that feeds off sweat is very easily transmitted. My friends used to have really bad BO during the day, even while showering 2-3 times a day, but when you're that active it's just unavoidable.

I guess when you put it in perspective it really isn't anyone's fault. But it's still enough to dissuade me from wanting to go >_<

And be a biohazard to everyone around me?!

If I ever get to meet one of my favorite pros, I straight up want a hug. I don't want them pulling back saying "dude I can't breathe around you!"

I mean, the place didn't reak of BO. There were some spots where you may catch a decently strong draft of it, but not everywhere. I didn't sit much in the SC2 section due to it just being crazy packed so I can't attest for much of that area, but everywhere else was okay. I guess this being in winter time helped, too. I think the 'hottest' it got in Providence was like mid 50's while the event was going on. I can imagine that at a MLG during summer this may be the complete opposite, now that I think about it. Ha.

I'd have to say the highlight for me was going to dinner with my dad on Saturday night at a nice steak house, and having Leenock, Puma and their translators(or friends or coaches or something) sitting at the table besides us. :-D. I felt like a little girl in a candy store and could barely stop smiling the entire time. Haha.

Aww, that's so cool! <3 Did you ask the translators to tell them anything? I'd've been like "Hey, could you just tell them that I'm huge fans of both of theirs?" Right as you or them are leaving, and also, to congratulate them both on their performances. ^-^

Even after a few glasses of wine, I didn't have the courage. Haha. My dad did, though. He walked right up to them, tapped one on the shoulder, pointed at his spectator wristband and said all awkward-like "Thanks for coming!". They kinda looked at him funny, so he b-lined it to the door. :D It was pretty cute.

So...as I mentioned earlier I'm on match.com and I have discovered the fastest way to turn me off. Say one of two things: "I'm not familiar with Skyrim." Or "Which one is Starcraft again?" I state very clearly in my profile that I am a gamer. I think it's reasonable to expect people who are interested in me to at least be able to name the best video games of the year.

Although I think we'd all agree not knowing starcraft is a BLASPHEMOUS crime, many who see gamer may think "Oh, hey, he plays MW3 or battlefield 3 like me!" And... no. Ugh, evil games. x.x

Still haven't played skyrim so... Anyone here ever play DDR? I used to be big into it, not really anymore. Here, have a video of me when I was... 16? 17? Dunno. just younger. X3 (22 now, as of the 22nd. Ironic, ain't it? )

Also, here's a video of me back when I failed MISERABLY one day. No, I wasn't hurt at all, though it doesn't exactly look like it.

My first reaction involved your hands being in my pants....

but in all seriousness, put them down your pants, it is one of the warmer parts of a clothed human.

Thanks! I was also convinced Astrid (Dark Brotherhood) was Gladdos from Portal, but it turns out its not. This is kind of scary, but I have 160 hours logged on Skyrim and I'm literally nowhere in the story line. I do have 4 45+ level characters though!

Also, the worst thing... ever happened to me this morning. I was using a barrel in Whiterun to hold all my extra stuff until I bought a house - I wanted the house in Solitude because it is the nicest but it is fairly pricey, so it took me a while. I finally buy the house and go back to fetch my stuff... and half of it is gone. Stuff gone includes:

+ Show Spoiler +
- A fair amount of crafting supplies
- 400 Iron Daggers I crafted when leveling Blacksmithing which I saved to level Enchanting
- LOTS of books that I collected for my bookshelves including spell tomes
- Unique tidbits from quests e.g. Claws, shitty but named weaponry etc (for display cases)
- 3 fucking unique Daedric weapons for wall mountings (Sanguine Rose etc)
- At least 2 Dragon Priest masks
- My supply of ~15 dragon scales that I was saving for my armor

Most of it can be replaced, of course, with the exception of the Daedric weaponry and the masks which is extremely disappointing.

WHY! WHY JARRYD, YOU NUMBNUT, WOULD YOU STORE RARE DEMIGOD GRANTED WEAPONRY AND DRACONIC ARTIFACTS IN A BARREL ON TOP OF THE BARRACKS IN WHITERUN?!

I read the tip on the net that you could store stuff in barrels and to start, I was extremely cautious! I would only put random stuff in them, but over the course of 3 toons to level 45+ nothing ever disappeared so I just used them to hold stuff. So you can imagine my horror when this happened. I tried loading but it was too far back. I wanted to alt-F4 and never play again.

Oh, I feel for you. I would use console commands to gift back the masks, personally, they are one of a kind. That definitely sucks though.

If I may suggest for other people though -- till you get a house store inside one of the various guild halls you can be a part of. I stored all my stuff in the Thieves Guild till I bought a house in Solitude, and everything was there when I went back.

Also, you have played more then me! How!? You're crazy!

Hi. My name is Mora. I am the local queer Starcraft player, and i write this post with the intentions of allowing other gay Starcraft players to find each other.

Possibly You: What does sexuality have to do with Video Games? I don't care if someone is gay or not, it just shouldn't be on an SC2 forum.

Well, no.

It's so difficult to start somewhere in this explanation. blarhg

When you're gay you don't know if you belong anywhere. You're taught, culturally, that it's disgusting and wrong. It's cool to be cool with people who are gay, but it's disgusting to want to have a dick in your mouth.

You ask questions like: If i talk, will everyone know that i'm gay? Will my friends still be my friends if they knew? Will my family still love me? Am i less of a man because i like other men? Am i male enough to hang out with heterosexual men?

This kind of minority is tricky. Before you have a chance to gain experience in gay culture, you don't have the tools to indentify who is gay and who isn't. The only people who are gay are the flamboyant guys on your TV screen and the faggot who gets beat up at lunch time because he likes to wear pink jeans (though in bigger cities this is less the case). We don't have any way to indentify each other. We can't see the only other asian/white kid/wheelchair/fatty in our school and go "hey, we can join forces against haters and be without hate".

And the hate is a different kind too. Being gay is about what you're aroused by. It's a deviation in carnal human behaviour. When someone hates you for that deviation, you feel that you can't argue with them. That It's not wrong to hate something disgusting. You understand that disgust because you’ve experienced it in the other direction – that the thought of sticking my tongue inside a dank vagina made me want to puke. That when i would watch straight porn, and see the tits bouncing around, i would lose my erection.

You sympathize with the disgust.

That's fucked.

So then many of us tend towards a hobby or a lifestyle that will be inclined to bring us in contact with other gays. We shy away from sports, we befriend more women than men, we learn to like fashion; we become masters at gossip.

But i like sports. I didn't get the fashion gene. I like to have conversations about things that are interesting, not trivialities regarding who said hi to whom.

I like strategy games.

So where do i find another guy that has the same interests?

Imagine if the only place you could meet girls was an internet forum called "Heterosexuality". You've never seen them in class. You've not seen them on the street. You've never had a conversation with one, you've never even made contact. Man, that would suck.

It does suck.

So i've created this thread for a few reasons.
1) For gays to find other gays that actually have something in common, other than their seuxality.
2) For gays to ask questions. I have a lot of experience with sexuality and gender psychology.
3) For everyone else to ask questions. Want to know if gaydar really exists? Want to know how gays figure out who gets to be on top or the bottom? Why do gays talk with a lisp anyway? Does Mora really have a crush on Incontrol?

Go!

edit - If you're question is more personal and you do not want it broadcasted on tl.net, feel free to send me a private message.

I don't care if someone is gay or not, it just shouldn't be on an SC2 forum.[/i]

Also being gay doesn't necessarily require you to suck dick my friend. You'd think you'd know that already. Of course gaydar exists. It's not like it's difficult to tell if someone is gay.

So then many of us tend towards a hobby or a lifestyle that will be inclined to bring us in contact with other gays. We shy away from sports, we befriend more women than men, we learn to like fashion; we become masters at gossip.

So you want us to sympathize with you because gay people decided to act like women and now it's difficult to find gay people who like male-oriented things? Maybe you guys shouldn't have forced yourself into gossip and fashion in the first place.

Also, the majority of culture thinks dicks in mouths are disgusting and wrong. Doesn't matter if it's a dude's mouth or a girl's mouth.
