![]() I have some questions tho.. I am trying yo lose some fat and my basal metabolic rate is around 2k calories/day. How much should I eat when I'm working out? Before my activity level wasn't high at all so 2k calories would keep me weight, should I eat more when I'm working out? Also, I have some protein powder and BCAAs, how should I use them and how much should I take?

Loosing fat, cycle ur carb intake couple of days with low carbs around 50 g a day one moderate and a load day. If u cant do this eat around 40/45% protein around 20% carbs rest fats .

Focus on healthy proteins and fats and cut out any unneeded carbs. I usually have a protein shake before/after i work out. For your pull ups, i usually do a wider grip to work out my back more. Also with your hands facing you(supinated grip i believe?) you will hit your biceps harder than the other way. On August 03 2010 00:59 unknown.sam wrote: @kainzero: why don't you just do dips eh?? WOmen have loewr testosterone levels than me so it's harder for them to add muscle... but the muscle you do add helps significantly in changing of body composition. ROAR MANSHLOW

Anyways, i got all really good squat reps at 10x205 8x325 6x350 4x375 2x410 then failed twice on 1x425 and was pretty upset...i dont know if i'll be able to max out 450 on friday ![]() Made up for failing on squats by killing myself on intervals, i was still doing top speed sprints on my 5th one and by then i felt like vomiting so i called it a day. Rugby can't possibly come fast enough...2 more weeks till i can try running over and past everyone whee (while still being a team player of course) /end ramble @mOnion: Switch it up from 5x5, you can try the charts i posted a couple weeks ago which start off at 5x10 then go to sets of 8, 6, 4, 2, 1, max. Pretty much anything to shock your muscles out of stagnation.

I dont have any tape/am too lazy to go get some. I was really hoping to find some wrist wraps at the gym but alas i think they all got stolen/put into storage or something because they had a ton of them a couple years ago.

T_T shitty day if you've failed on the same weight for 3 succeeding sessions it's probably time to reset (assuming form is in check). take off 10-15% off the weight you failed at then work your way up again. read the below link if you want it in more detail. http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ:The_Program#Stalling.2C_Resetting_and_Progressing

I was ill for 5 days last week My training has been pretty disturbed the last few weeks (unfortunately not only because of my illness) I am eating like shit since a couple of weeks. Jesus, there have been a couple of days lately where I have eaten nothing but french fries, ice cream and coke. I am under so much stress lately, I have a new job, I need a new flat, I am just a mess. Worked for quite a while, but now I finally paid for it. I couldn't squat 5x150x3 today, not even close. That's normally not even challenging for me. Time for a change now. I will have to figure out the whole job and room thing, should be done two weeks from now. Then I will just start a SS cycle for 4-6 weeks starting with really easy weights and build up a solid foundation again. Afterwards I will just start another 5x5 cycle, I need direction, training without a plan is the worst thing ever. Well, on a positive note, although living horribly the last weeks I have lost some weight again. I was at my parents for 2-3 weeks and although I ate all this crap it seems I just ate less than normally (that's actually nearly always the case. Since I'm like 12 I always lose weight when I am on some kind of holidays, I just eat less frequently then). Also, since I have started serious progression with Chin ups, my biceps just exploded. I am still a very big guy and that makes it hard to tell how my muscle development is, since there is fat all around. But my arms just look huge now, the difference is scary. Btw, I haven't done Curls in months. Just Chin-Ups and BO-Rows with supinated grip, which is basically half a Curl with 3x the weight of a normal Curl. Good stuff. I am quite curious what happens to my arms when I'm finally training right again. So although everything is quite messed up right now, it's still alright ![]() That's 1000. I'm a Guardian now, woho.

anyway i decided to screw around in the gym for a change and tried out benching instead of my usual dips. i just find it annoying when people find out i'm training to get stronger and they ask me that cliche question, "what do you bench?" and i can't answer because i've never benched before. so i thought i'd put an end to all of that nonsense. i quickly found out benching isn't as easy as it looks. even just balancing an empty bar at lock out was kinda difficult lol (i should have the form down for bench within the next 2 sessions tho). eventually i got bored practicing with the empty bar so i decided to add a few plates. to my surprise i was able to bench a lot more than i expected. i'm quite close to benching my own bw, maybe a month away (which i really find hard to believe). i guess there was a lot of carry over from doing dips. good ol dips! i just hope the ton of volume (i think i did like 10 sets total on bench press) today won't screw up my progress too much.

Alexandra Isbister Age: 23 || Height: 5'6" || Weight: about 155 lbs Starting date: Last Sunday! Whooo! Goal Date: Whenever Weight Goals: I'd say 135 lbs or so. Training Goals: I just want to be in better shape. I'm a nerd, and I spend most of my time sitting on my ass in front of a computer. I was on the crew team in highschool, and back then I weighed about 130 and could run 5 miles without resting. Now I doubt I could make it half a mile, LOL. Nutrition goals: I want to eat less. Preferably eat more healthy. I've been getting good about this, but every now and then the munchies get me and I find myself pigging out on candy. Misc Goals: Be awesome at stuff. Random explanations: So growing up I always had the fastest metabolism in the world. I could eat whatever I wanted in whatever quantities I wanted, and never gain an ounce. In recent years, that's changed. Now I don't look like I weigh as much as I do. When people guess my weight, they usually undershoot by anywhere from 15-35 pounds. I don't know if they're just trying to be polite, but I do look like I'm in much better shape than I am. I think my bones are made of lead or something. Anyway, so my exercise of choice is Dagorhir. Fighting with padded weapons. Holy shit what a workout. Running around on a field for 3 hours at a time swinging heavy swords and getting beaten on by a bunch of guys much bigger than me. Loads of fun. After practice each week I'm usually sore for the next like 3 days. And not just sore, but like, struggling to make it down a staircase sore. But it's a blast, and I love each and every practice, which means I'll actually stick with it. So... I guess I'll post updates and such! Wish me luck, folks!

I guess mostly I want to lose weight, toning would be nice, but I'm mainly focused on weight and endurance. I get winded far too easily right now, and I'd like to be able to finish up a battle with the same energy that I started it with! Rawr!
