Also, a friend put me onto a new type of workout he said worked well for him (particularly in linear gain) called Hypertrophy: http://www.hypertrophy-specific.com/hst_index.html I'd welcome any sorts of opinions and/or experiences using this method.

THAT'S MY VIDEO! haha If it is I hate how you term them '90 degree pushups' Just leave it as the legit gymnastics name -- hollow back presses. Kinda like bboys ripped off 'thomas flairs' and now call them 'flares' just renaming/respelling stuff for no good reason.

How is it possible for a long distance runner to gain significant amounts of upper body mass and lose weight? 140lb is very lean for a guy of average height... unless you have like 20 lbs of hair.

http://www.youtube.com/user/FitnessAnywhere seems like a pretty dandy thing to have if you're really short on time. it's pretty new here (i assume it's been around for quite some time now) so the price is less than encouraging. but still i wouldn't mind having something like this at home just to change things up from time to time.

needs to look at Starting Strenght Basically you start eating lots of food.and 0.7-1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. You work out 3 times a week alternating 2 workouts Workout A 3x5 squats 3x5 bench 1x5 deadlift Workout B 3x5 squats 3x5 military press 3x5 pull ups, dips or to failure I went from 140lbs to 160lbs in 1 month and have seen significant gains in muscle mass

Not starting strength yet because I don't have a trainer for form, but I had quite a ridiculous shoulder/chest/tri session yesterday, and now I'm the sorest I've ever been. I worked out with the ROTC kids and they murdered me You don't need a trainer for form, and unless the trainer has some type of power lifting background they won't teach you good form anyways. 2-3 weeks of starting strength and you'll probably be able to teach the compound lifts better than 90% of trainers. Read the starting strength wiki (eventually get the book for more indepth explanations), watch videos on youtube, record and watch yourself, and post videos online to get feed back.

It's good for me. At least, I keep telling myself that, as I wolf it down.

I've started everyday swimming solo in a small pool we have here at my school. Anyone got any good exercice tips / tecniques / fun to do in the swimming pool? Name/nick: ThePhan2m Age: 23 || Height: 176cm || Weight: 105kg Starting Date: 1st February 2010 || Goal Date: 1st May 2010 or as long as it takes to get fitter Weight goals -- To get under 90kg at first atleast. Training goals -- Increase muscles, and remove fat. Also keep my injured legs in motion, so my exercies will be swimming / weight lifting. Nutrition goals -- I'm going to eat as healthy as possible. Drop any unhealthy sugar / fat and eat more vegetables and healthy fish / meat. Misc goals -- Try to work harder in life general. Get good grades at school. Already got into good speed with the XPIRL thread that I made. Do less waste of times like uneccecary gaming and less TV, more reading.
