Would that map slightly improve my FPS as well, or should I get darkreef/immortalgardens?
ii think dark reef is the only map that improves fps, immortal is probably the worst

guess I better lvl my compendium to 150 then 
Even just 10FPS means the world to me right now.

Not sure if you're being serious in your questioning but, if that's the case, I believe he deems the subject trivial and not worthy of a discussion : those are only terrains.
On the other hand, this is a dota2 dedicated website, and no one is forcing him to read or comment the various topics, so... the post did sound a bit odd indeed, if not ridiculous, to me.

Same reaction about that one. Sounds more like a personal rant than anything, I don't see anyone mentioning the "pro" side in the topic.
According to the client, there were 12M unique players last month. I do not believe those are all pros, yet I do believe they can still find interest in the various terrains.

Today I unlocked the reef terrain, been playing 3/4 games on it, and so far I don't like it.
Sometimes I don't even "know" where I am on the map, I'm having hard time locate some neutrals camps. I mean I knew it was busy from looking at the preview in videos and in game, but yeah, it is busy, and it's confusing too. Coming from the MK terrain, which has quite frantic colours, this one seems very washed out, as well.
I'll give it some days, but right now I doubt I'll keep it.

yeah I agree - but it only took me a handful of games to get used to it, so that part isn't really as bad.
The problem for me is, that it doesn't change a thing in terms of FPS.
I still have horrible 15 FPS days, where dota is just unplayable.... other days I'm at 50-70 which is fine.
Seems to me like I don't have a choice but to spend my bonus on a new laptop
