See, when 90% of the playerbase claims to only want a team of "their" skill level that doesn't rage, and yet that almost never seems to happen, it can only mean two things: the matchmaking service is intentionally rigged to ruin your experience, or you're not being very honest with yourself when it comes to your own play and behavior.
Quite often there are players in my game that are either far worse or far better than i am.
And it is not only because of stacks. There is hard evidence that players skill differences are huge, if you watch the replay and see the free farm carry is missing 50% last hits and the enemy carry that is contested hits like 80% of his last hits something is wrong.
Sure it isn't only about last hitting but this is a very obvious and measurable example.

I think an issue is that mmr system somehow gives higher ratings to players with more played matches, therefore I personally noticed when going over dotabuff after the match that I've played with a 170 games player with 60% win ratio who was really good and a 45% win ratio player with 2000 games who kinda sucked.

I actually think this experience is so common because in lower skil levels (no offence, including myself here) because people are simply not good at playing "right" from a deficit. You get ahead early and deliever a beatdown, you get behind early and it feels like there is nothing you can do right this game...

There's always going to be people smurfing, but other than that I've rarely seen a huge variety of skill in a match.
I've played a few lobby matches with people far better than me (among them a tlih game or two), and when you're in that kind of situation, it's an absolutely desperate prospect where you feel there's nothing you can do right and you get outplayed every time you engage an opponent even when you feel you're doing your best. I very rarely had that kind of thing happen in a pub game.

The game is trying to face you as few stacks as possible when playing solo, and you'll practically never meet a 5stack, but on the other hand it doesn't want you to wait forever. So sometimes it just goes "fuck it, the best I can find right now is 3 + two solos, projected wait time otherwise is 10 minutes" funny because adding eniterely redundant aesthetic options apparently doesn't increase waiting time

Not sure what you mean. If you're talking about ranked mmr, yes it does. Thats why they removed solo que, precisely because ranked mmr increases wait time and they cant support both

This is server-side enabled and thus arbitrarilily divides the matchmaking pool up further, making queue times longer. But hey, that's far more important than solo queue.

I have no idea how that works, it is kinda stupid, but it does stop people from commenting on Volvo's facebook page at least. Is it possible that the cosmetic of the map is client side and you can play on it with people who's playing on the regular map?

I think I'm done with this fucking game, this isn't fun anymore. Find people that arent bad. Honestly the only way i play know is with people i know. When i solo queue i expect to be picking up the slack of other teammates who dont care. The best way to get out of that is by talking to the people who are actually good and who care on your team and grouping up with them and then stomping the pub slime you where just playing with. I honestly have zero online friends so everything I do is "solo queue" I think this is a strong case to stick to single player games I guess since I wouldn't even know where to start making friends. Just add anyone you meet in solo queue that you enjoyed playing with. Or you could try finding people through the forum in which you are currently posting.

Some guy from who-knows-what-country said something to me, no idea what, but he started his sentence with [the hero I was playing], so I guess he was talking to me. I said English please, I don't understand your language. He then turned into a ginormous Shouty McScreamo.
Well, when you're talking to someone who doesn't speak your language, the most obvious solution is to continuously raising your voice until they magically understands you.

Screaming in portugese and typing with characters that dont exist in the english language are my two favorite qualities in dota players on US english only servers

timbersaw is useless the whole game and goes afk after 30mins. a free win is now a painful loss yet i still lose more points than i did ever before...thanks mmr

had a similiar timbersaw experience recently, claims mid immediatly dies 4 times to blood seeker. Calls Bloodseeker noob hero, only noobs play and pick this hero, sells all his items buys sentrys feeds ~10-20 more kills.
Maybe all timbersaw players are horrible people?

I got quite a nice teams in Ranked match making so far, can't complain much, just that we threw two won games in a row, when we got 2 out of 3 baracks

The issue being that people who don't speak English have worked out that ticking English shortens their wait so they tick it anyway. then the solution is to have 4 options: english, chinese, russian, and "shortest wait time". The last one is what most people want anyway, so it will be the fastest (especially if it is selected by default). That doesn't make sense. The issue for people who want English only is not that they are ticking other languages, they are willing to wait, it is that other people who want the shortest wait time tick for every language. That's how shortening the wait time works, you widen your preferences. The only way shortest wait time could work is if it put them in with people of any language which is exactly the problem we're trying to avoid. Just creating a button called "short wait time" doesn't actually create a system to shorten wait times.
if you don't allow people to select every box, then the one that is most selected is the shortest wait time. The one that is default selected will have the most people.
The point isn't to make a system with shorter wait times than we have now, the point is to make a system that allows for people to have longer wait times if they want it, while not significantly impacting those who don't care.

i don't understand why the game is giving me people who don't know how channeled ability's work. Shadow Shaman levels disable first, probably following a guide. He uses it once and instantly cancels the channel, thought it was a shit ability then never uses it again for the rest of the game. I was muted so i couldn't say anything to him either
