hooking bots is not the same thing as hooking players. If it were I would be going 40-0 every game I played.
There is only one way to learn pudge, and involves picking him in pubs.
You can learn a lot of the fundamentals of individual heroes in bot games but to learn pudge you really have to play against people, and I dont think its fair to be mad at people who are trying to improve.

well to be fair i think the ratio of useless pudges to good pudges is the highest out of any hero. coupled with the fact that pudge is the most picked hero, it gets pretty annoying after a while

Practice your money hooks in bot games. It's not that hard I don't think. Using other human players as guinea pigs seems like a dick move. =\
Problem with that is :
a) you will have less latency (ping) in a bot game so when you time all your hooks perfectly in there
you'll probably be late most of the time in a real match
b) people don't move / behave like bots

Try to play a serious game in CM, get a retarded captain who sounds like a 13 year old russian on voicechat.
Try to play all-random for fun, get 4 hardcarries. One of them repicks and draws Naix.
I just wanna play a decent normal match once a day, for fucks sake.

I really don't feel this way, I think pudge almost always has something to offer, even if he isn't a master hooker, if he just does some tank build ults key targets and is just around when his team kills stuff he'll become strong anyway.

There is only 1 thing to do if you miss a hook, just run up (blink, force, phase) and dismember the poor bastard. You will probably eat a stun or 2, but that is a stun or 2 less your rest of the team eats. Also fear of the hook is sometimes better than the hook itself, enemies are more likely to make a mistake or maybe not run in a straight line (allowing you/team to catch up).

Sort of makes sense as a hypothesis. I mean someone who is decent at the game knows how important communication is. And so people who aren't complete arses will tend to queue up servers and languages appropriately as a result to get good games.
However people who are totally self-centred and don't give a crap will just queue every server and every language to get them the fastest possible queues. These are also the kind of people who are likely to flame, feed and generally ruin games.

I had a friend like that. He'd rant at everyone else in the game except me (usually because I was stomping it, he was pretty low level) and ragequit from time to time.
I stopped playing with him after he decided to start insulting me when we were chatting about item composition on CK. Using the good old "another guy I queue with at a high level agrees with me" argument to support his opinion.

Ugggghh. Was such a good game. I was actually holding my own vs Alch-Doom-Tiny. But invoker DC'd out of nowhere and they kept unpausing. We eventually sold his stuff and I controlled him a little from time to time. Just wasn't enough though.

So more than half my games tonight have ended simply because of ragequits. Never had this problem ever before in this game but it's just pure bullshit tonight. Can't have a decent game at all. I've reported more people tonight then in the last 4 months all together because of people ragequitting and then people being complete douchebags because they won't let us pause at all and my own teammates using voice chat to curse at us.

Preferences: Europe West and English. What do I get? Retarded 4 stack who doesn't speak a word in english (except for one of them). And are they good? Veno and Medusa feeds safe lane again CM, disruptor and slardar. Ok, it's not an easy lane but they just run straight in and die. Puck has no awereness at all and even when I tell him they're coming for him, he keeps being in lane and dies 5-6 times. Pudge goes off lane and can't land one single hook. Feeds. Go gome Dota 2 matchmaking, you're fucking drunk.
