He's only a pain when he gets unchecked. Played with a friend as we wanted to try out the Warlock (him) and Disruptor Combo. Ended up being in a bad team. He also missed a lot of chances to land that Meteor on at least 3 people. Next game, I had to pick OD cuz no one was a hard carry. It was my first time to play carry and of course it wasn't good at all. Laned against Zeus but getting that Sheepstick under 10-15 minutes was just too much for me and I had to settle with a force staff before we got rolled bad. We also had a Crystal Maiden who got Aghanims first and did not fucking ward at all and it really irritated me as someone who plays 5 most of the time. 3rd game was an RD and I picked OD again since I was first pick (I think I won the lane against Razor). I swear that Random Draft isn't random at all. I have a hunch that Valve checks your most played heroes and if you play support most of the time, it gives you the first picks so you are "forced" to get a carry. | ||

Just a hunch. I've played support most of the time and I think that in Random Draft, when you're given the first 1-2 picks, you're supposed to get the carry in the hero pool cuz otherwise the other team might get all the good ones, leaving your team with nothing. | ||

Getting a good support hero is a lot more important to the vast majority of lineups than getting a good carry. Even "meh" carries do fine with $$$ unless you are against pros (yah right). Not to mention that most pools have like 3 good supports tops and like 8+ reasonable carries. | ||

Usually you should be going for the best supports in the pool first, since they are way more important than a specific hard carry. If you don't have proper supports, you most likely will end with a mix of semi & hard carries where no one might want to support. In the other scenario, you will just pick what's left as your hard carry. If there is no 'true' hard carry you simply move a 'normal support' to that position (such as venge, veno or whatever, which can easily work and even crush teams with hard carries such as AM/ALCH or whatever who have no proper support behind them). | ||

1st game: I pick Jugg, farm, get fat, then our Sven decides to never come to fights because I built diffusal. Enemy team drags the game while we are trying to push 4 vs 5 and we end up losing because they had harder carries than ours. 2nd game: I pick FV, farm, get ganked and my team blame the loss on me. Allright. 3rd game: I pick Slardar and I hardlane vs Gyro. I do fine, not great, but fine. End game score of our wisp was 0-17-4. 4th game: I pick BM, go mid vs Rhasta. I literally destroy him and I get first blood on him too !! I start ganking and I'm completly controlling the game, but the doom on our team gets butthurt over something I never understood and decides to afk farm vs a PL. We ended up losing. 1 Month ago I was playing with the most tryhard people who only cared about winning and not about some ego shit, I stopped playing because I was having a bunch of exams at the university and when I come back I get matched with people who clearly have some kind of problem. Gotta love MM. edit 1: Honestly, I dont' have any problems with people feeding (Like the Wisp for example ), but people who grief the game on purpose because they are in that "period of the month" really piss me off. edit 2: I should have watched Sing stream after 1st game, seriously. | ||

If you aren't going to do any supporting then please, PLEASE pick a carry - so that a) you won't be COMPLETELY useless lategame, and b) so that I won't fall into the false sense of actually having someone else play support | ||

First thing I'd do if I was IF would be to remove this fucking retard of an hero. Don't do anything but farm whole game, keep all lanes pushes like hell easily, come at the lategame with fucking 6 slot and murder everyone from anywhere on the map. Seriously fuck this hero. | ||

I just try and pick what's not in excess. If the only initiator on the board is Enigma, you better believe I'll grab it first. I just find it very hypocritical when I get flamed for picking Sven first when the only other carry in the pool is Silencer. People will go off the chain if they find out they got "forced" to play support, yet I've only ever heard someone complain once that they "had" to play a carry. That was a friend of mine who was still relatively new and randomed Morphling to be sent mid. She had never played Morph nor gone mid. Did pretty well considering the circumstances. | ||
