If you honestly thought the game had zero chance of being winable, then why bother continue playing it? You're not going to learn anything more in it, and you're certainly not having a good time. Equivalent of this would be to write "gg" in sc2, and then continue playing till your last building dies. Sure, except it's one player saying "gg" when there's 4 other players on his team who didn't say anything. That parallel is only relevant in stack vs.stack. Manipulating tactics? You're giving the pub hivemind way too much credit. Also, if you chill at fountain and the other team continues to take their sweet time winning, you'll get an afk abandon. That's a pretty strong incentive to go back to the fights. Plus, who listens to the other team in a pub anyway? Chances are they've got a guy who calls gg after first blood. That doesn't mean the rest agree. If it's at a stage where everyone does agree, the game is usually so blatantly lost that the enemy carry could 1v5 fountain dive while the t3s are up and it wouldn't matter. There is a pretty big difference between "you" and "team. If you say gg, I expect you to give up. Not the rest of your team. You don't just start defending with everything you got and say "doesn't mean I'm going to let you win", that's just childish. I do know about the abandon factor. But surely you should be able to figure a way around that which doesn't include constantly sending illuminates down the ramp while screaming "End ff ffs noobs!"? You expect wrong. When I ask people to end fast,it usually means their so far ahead they will win on the next push, instead they decide to go back to farming for no apparent reason. This is a waste of time for both you and me. Even when I ask people to end fast, it doesn't mean you get a free win. It basically means to stop wasting time and come end us, we won't go down without a fight though. Where's the fun when people just give up and roll over to die? I rather die in a fight & lose the ancient then to just sit in fountain waiting for creeps to end me. You call my behaviour childish? I call it valor. The other team's decision to not end the game and instead go back to farming is what I call childish and a huge waste of time. Respect your opponents enough to give him the finishing blow instead of toying around with him.
Er...no. Screw that. Overconfidence loses games. If you're going to call FF and then fight it then I'm damn well going to be getting my team to back off and we're going to be playing extremely carefully, farming up our ultimate combination and waiting for an absolutely guaranteed unbeatable push with no screwups. We're only going to take a push if we've picked off two or three of your team already, or on the back of an Aegis, or with a 6-slot ultimate carry like Void or Spectre who basically can't die by that point. And always as a 5.
Rushing up the slope into your defending team and making a misplay can lead to a teamwipe into your team turning around and throning down the middle. I know it can happen because I've done it. Several times. And I've had it done to me when my team's position 1 gets cocky. Becoming arrogant enough to think you've already won is easily one of the most common causes of thrown games in DOTA2.
One of the games where I felt most sorry for the other team was when the other team had one or two sets of rax and their Antimage, so sure of himself, jumps into a fight against me (as CK) and I rip his skull open in combination with stuns from allies. He immediately bought back, bought boots of travel, TPd to our base, blinked in again and then just died again to something like a 90 second cooldown. We mopped up the other team and charged down the middle with my Manta/Ultimate illusion army leading the charge. Flat out throned them right when their AM respawned. Total throw on his part and completely unnecessary. Safe play would have led them to an easy win which is why I personally would never take "bait" like you throw to people.
If you're going to forfeit then forfeit. If you're not then don't complain about the other team not pushing because its entirely your own fault for trying to bait the opposition into making a misplay. When you're far ahead the important thing is to stay calm and close the game out safely; not to get overexcited and throw it away just because the other team is baiting you with "OMG COME ON NOOBS FINISH NOW!"
Anyway: Unusual QQ - An antimage NOT AFK farming. Now I can understand why people get annoyed at that Antimage who disappears into the jungle and doesn't come out for anything until he's six-slotted. But I think I found a worse AM - one who gets his battlefury...and does absolutely nothing with it.
So we're up against an opposing team where their single biggest carry is Void and we've got an interesting mix of PA, AM and Razor. We decide our AM should be the position 1 because hey...why not? Flash farm up super fast and then just murder them before Void can get online properly, right? Totally prevent him from ulting if you're fast enough with the mana burn too. PA offers to act as an unusual support (it was All Random mode, our mid was Zeus) and does really well with the team.
I'm offlane with Razor. He's constantly stealing Void's attack damage screwing up his last hitting. Necro is harrassing me (I'm on Bounty Hunter) but its ok. We're a little sloppy and trade a bit, slightly behind but whatever its ok. AM has a decently timed Bfury (for a pub) so now he just needs to go clear out the jungle about ten times and then kill their whole team, right?
Except...he doesn't. The team is doing fine. We're barely holding off their pushes and its a bit messy all round but we're getting nice track gold and trading comfortably. Their Void can't hit a good ult to save his life.
But AM just wouldn't farm. He's CONSTANTLY hanging around waiting for teamfights with just his Battlefury. Literally every two minutes I'm saying to him "AM, just go farm, we need you to be stacked".
Nope, lets chill by the tower whilst the other team pushes from the river. Then lets try and gank this guy...oh no he got away nevermind. Then lets check the rune. And go and wander in their jungle.

We lost. Hard. At AN HOUR into the game our AM has Bfury, Manta, Treads and a Basher. Off the back of about an 18-20 minute battlefury and track gold. After realising how useless AM was being our "support" PA transitioned into a carry build at about 30 minutes and finished with a 20.7k net worth compared with 19.1k net worth on AM despite not farming at all earlygame. PA had ONE less last hit than AM (how an Antimage finishes at 1 hour with only 167 last hits I don't even want to know).

For some reason a lot of people assume one person saying "finish plz" means the entire team gave up, then they get mad at the other 4 players for defending

whys very high mmr so fucking horrible, most games there are worse than normal bracket. every time it's like a couple decent players + 3 retards who either have no idea what they're doing or just trolling. don't think its trolling tho cuz it happens way too often. everyone just wants to farm all game, nobody ever builds a mek, etc. this bracket should be a lot smaller, too many useless people getting carried for free every game. oh, and like half of them are muted as well.

goddammit I'm on another loss streak
I'm not even sure why I lost the last game. Went mid as Axe, got first blood on Gyrocopter, ganked the sidelane, double kill, I got my blink dagger at 11 minutes. Game looked fucking amazing.
Then I blinked into a CM, appearently missed the Call, CM and Gyro manage to pull a combo ulti on the entire team and suddenly the game went from a stomp into a gradual loss until the other team that had more carries than our 0 carries got too fat.
I played like shit at a few parts and bought back way too many times but I'm gonna QQ about my teammates because damn it, they share the blame. Chen went to the suicide lane with WR instead of jungling and Pugna went wand->phase boots -> Agahim. They were chill dudes and all, but if you're going to play Pugna then a) know when to Ghost people, b) don't play a Support if you're going to aim for a lategame build, and if you're Chen PLEASE go to the jungle

My QQ is people who never pay attention to the map, no matter how many times you ping that they are in danger, or missing a free kill, or missing a rune, or a courier snipe etc etc.
All the dumb things that no matter how many times you ping, or ask your team for help, they just ignore, or say "I know" or "What's a gank?" (TA 9/7/2013)

hehe I played a game as CK, playing well most of it, definitely doing a lot more then our SF who can't hit a shadow raze to save his life.
We end up losing a major fight, lost the rax, t4s, and pretty much the game. SF starts blaming me for everything. I tell him he's not the one to talk. We proceed to chase them out of the base, when I chaos bolt a creep instead of 20% hp naix. Np, got reality rift, which i misclick and get another creep. Havent missed any all game, but right after getting talkied shit to.. ya that was great

today I got to play with a juggernaut who went mid lane to bother the solo mid sniper and then followed him everywhere sniper went while also feeding almost everyone on the other team.
The game is still going while I'm typing this. Their viper has 18 kills.

I've done it too before, feel the pain. Especially when it's on a fleeing target, thats when it misses the most and goes to a creep and you want to facepalm yourself into oblivion.
