I am in the VERY high tier level and i STILL get bad players that have absolutely NO idea how to play this game. How are we supposed to weed out the bad players? i'm not going to let a person take over mid or CHOOSE a carry and fail to farm and carry the game. This is the ONLY reason why dota 2 is bad right now, the solo que/matchmaking system is fucking horrible. At least in HON they show stats so we know who should be carrying, going to mid, and supporting. This way everyone respects each other roles. What makes you think you are entitled to decide who plays what? It's not, but if you have around .5 kdr then for sure I will not let you ruin my game by feeding mid. If you want to lose then that's fine, but don't expect your teammates to play to its full potential. I don't even care about KDR or whatnot but valve really should implement some sort of MMR instead of hiding it. It does nothing for the game. At least I know I will be playing with people of my caliber. You don't care about KDR, but if it's bad you won't let people play certain positions? If anything this guy is the perfect example of why we shouldn't have publicly available stats.
And this entire thread serves as an example of dunning-kruger effect

I can definitely see from this thread how this Kuruptt guy got reported and comm banned while whining about how the report system is flawed. Not difficult.. not difficult at all.. Well deservedly so if that is how he acts.

The curious case of the cyrillic carry.
I swear. It's a thing...

It's fine, even if I whine and such I still win games. Fact of the matter is that there is no way in telling who you are playing with and what caliber. There is no way that in every game you will get the SAME caliber players in that game, that just isn't possible unless the dota 2 MM system is flawless, which it isn't.
I am fine with letting people go mid or whatever role they want. My point is that you SHOULDN'T be going mid if you aren't in the same caliber as every other player in the game. Say you are a 1500 MMR player in a 1700MMR average game, are you going to let that 1500 mmr go mid or carry? Yeah I don't think so. I'm sorry casuals if you wan't your stats hidden, I do to. But at least have MMR shown or SOMETHING.

rule of thumb, if you find a match in less than 3 minutes then you are playing people with the same skill level as you. So you can cancel every time you reach 3 minutes and search match again if you want to get same calibre of players

so in a hypothetical team, Chuan should go mid instead of .... let say S4 ... since Chuan (arguably) will have a higher MMR compared to S4 (and the better player)

I never understood how people will random a hero in All Pick mode> say they don't know how to play him at start>> refuse to repick>>> refuse any advice on builds/skills>>>> feed all game>>>>>> finally when the other team gets tired of his whining in all chat ask why he picked that hero response is "but I didn't pick, I randomed!"...
Too many players think that bonus 200 something starting gold will win them the game.

Lina refuses to buy wards/courier, though it's ok since we have other supports in our team. Lina went bot, but suddenly wants mid as soon as puck complains so he and Puck both go mid and fail miserably against Pudge while arguing during the entire game. I get solo hard lane as drow but I actually manage to get decent farm against Slark AND Mirana about 70-80 cs after 13-15 mins but we lose big time because Pudge is actually quite good and Lina trolling/trash talking all game. I'm so fucking pissed off right now. Goodbye for a couple of days, DotA.

Not harder than let's say lanaya combo. Invoker is really harder though and I could agree, but I don't like bots. He's the only heroe I swap all the time or repick.

Its not hard if you've done it once or twice. But getting the timing down perfectly along with blink takes a bit of practice. You will fail the first time you do it.
Lenaya is easier because you just do what you can do with most other heroes. Blink in and use all your abilities. Not saying you'll play her perfectly the first time either, but at least she should be fairly straight forward in pubs. Meepo is nothing like any other hero in the game.
edit: And Invoker is one of my favorite heroes in the game now. I played him around 10-20 singleplayer games (half of them in -wtf mode just to get the finger rythm down) before I decided to try him online. I don't get why people are so ashamed of playing vs bots for a few minutes and/or reading a guide before jumping onto a new hero they know nothing about.

Do we really need matchmaking and/or the report system? Personally, I could do without all that new fancy shit.

There was report systems in wc3 dota too you know. Just much harder and usually permanent.
And really? you'd rather go back to making lobbies than to have matchmaking? There's practically no difference, except mm is 100 times faster than refreshing bnet for 10 min looking for a game in your skill bracket and isn't -apemso

bullshit. It's a game and I'll play whoever I want. Yeah sometimes I suck with certain heroes (my Brewmaster is 100% useless) but my Invoker turned out to be pretty good, so there.
The 'problem' with trying new heroes out is that you usually have no idea how to skill/what to build, which is why most players can't use Bat/OD/etc well, but that's been fixed with the addition of Builds.

Valve does not want a game where people are telling other people what to do because of a number.

Dota QQ? I can't play. Steam can't login properly. Steam Client Bootstrapper just dies on me by not responding.
I tried the ClientRegistry.blob trick but to no avail. I ain't downloading Steam again, that's bull.

Yeah. Then don't come here whining from LPQ for being terrible because you decided to random a hero you've never played before and have no idea how works. (Yes, I know you aren't suppose to report terrible play, people do it anyways).
Seriously. You're just ruining the game for the other 9 people you play with. Winning really isn't any fun either when you know its only because "the random meepo is 0-25-3". Whats the big deal anyways? Why the opposition to practice? This seems like the most logical first step anyone would take when familiarizing themselves with something new. You play vs bots when you try out new builds in sc2, you play singleplayer in fifa before going online, you play practice mode in tekken before trying out that 19 button combo mash, etc.
You're just being selfish by saying "I play it however I like" if you random a hero you know nothing about when its a team game. And don't pretend you can play Invoker perfectly the first time just because you read a build somewhere. If so you're more gifted than Dendi.

Yes, Meepo. Yes, Invoker. Apart from those 2 exceptions I dont really think it's required to play heroes in bot games first.
Oh yeah, my QQ: People who random and then want to tell the team what roles they should pick. If you apparently dont mind playing every role why dont YOU play those roles no one else wants to play?

AR, I get AM but we already have PL so I repick and got spectre.
And I'm up against a fucking trilane. You'd think AR is a bit more casual, nope.
Edit: PL good hero, gg
