oh well, take comfort in knowing that you played really well. Moral victories and all that.
Easy said but hard to do.Usually when i play really well and we still lose i curse my teammates so much (not in the game but in my head). Also what really bothers me in Dota is that when you try to give a friendly advice to anyone they answer Fuck you in 90% of cases and people are not opened to any discussion whatsoever.
By the way what is the optimal build for Naga? I seem to not understand that hero well as i am 0-2 with her and don't feel comfortable playing her.

diffusal/manta/heart/butterfly. You can get a drums early on if you're worried about survivability. If you don't fight, you can splitpush, your illusions are arguably the strongest, beside ck's, so you can right click the tower with them

I'm hardly the best person to give advice (standard pub scrub) but I'm 7-1 on Naga and she's by far one of the heroes I'm most comfortable playing.
Item build I usually get boots > Aquila > Upgrade to Treads > Diffusal > Manta >Butterfly/Heart. Really take advantage of the illusions, you know? Sometimes grab a quelling blade or stout shield early if I'm taking a lot of damage or having trouble last hitting (standard melee carry laning basically).
Skillwise I like to get net at level 1 if there's any chance of getting an early kill (its a really good disable in my opinion). Riptide level 2 and Illusions level 3. From there I tend to max out net first and then riptide, taking the ult at level as it comes. Although if I get a really fast diffusal I mix in extra levels of illusions.
Logic being that riptide gets you armor reduction and damage, increasing your combat strength significantly as well as letting you clean up jungle camps quite effectively quite early, it also is generated by all of the illusions too which is amazing. Each level of net provides a full second of extra disable which is absolutely huge. Your illusions aren't all that useful for damage dealing outside of riptide use until you have diffusal up anyway, plus levelling it doesn't get you any extra illusions. So leaving it at level 1 for a while generally works for me. Getting your song as soon as possible is vital and it works as both an escape mechanism (not just for you but for any nearby allies) and an initiation (as long as your team knows what they're doing with it), the extra levels provide huge cooldown decreases so getting it maxed fast is always good.

Pick support - Carries are terrible Pick carry - Supports are trash This sums it up pretty much in a nutshell :D That's why I can't take time to play carry, I'm afraid that no one will play support to get wards.
I had a game earlier, I get venge, along with treant, sf, zeus, beastmaster. SF begs to stay at mid and tells me to get courier and wards (like I don't know that already). Early game was good, treant dominated against skeleton king and bloodseeker cuz they were too busy looking for me at the creep pull camp. I was the only one doing the wards so I kinda expected the others to get their items. It turns out that our Zeus was badly underfarmed. SF got pissed cuz we lost in the clashes, most of it was because Treant mistimed his ultimate and SF couldn't get his SS placed properly.
Second game was me (venge), Chaos Knight, Centaur, Phantom Lancer, and Omniknight. Early game was a bit difficult, we (PL and Omni) trilaned at bottom with me pulling the creeps so we don't outpush and we get to gank CM and Trax. Their CM fed cuz he was scouting instead of putting in wards which led to ganks. PL was a beast, got radiance asap to farm for items. Centaur got blademail which made him a great tank. The game was really really close. They got Aegis twice but ended up wasting it. The first went to their trax which was a good thing cuz their PA was a lot more scary. The second aegis went to PA. We couldn't gank them at roshan cuz their dps was hella scary. But they misplayed while defending the middle tower which allowed us to kill them all and push.

Thank you for good explanation. I guess my biggest mistake was not getting a diffusal and rushing vanguard then manta. I used to think vanguard is really good, but in fact it is good and efficient only in a few cases.

Like does playing dota make people drop 100 points of IQ or something? Or are people in public games just as thick as they appear?
Solo queue and i have two guys that are buddies on my team, one immediately states he's only played 5 games and is new(wtf how am i queued with this guy?) ofcourse he procees to feed, but i hold my tongue and try to be nice and helpfull. What does he do ~20min in when we are losing? He starts to flame me. "STFU NOOB DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO YOU ARE BIG NOOB" Ok so i give him advice, he is completely new to the game and even then, he cannot accept advice and starts playing the blame game. Fantastic.
Second game with a buddy: We get two danes that are together on our team(i understand danish) who talks on voice to eachother constantly. A darkseer and an axe, axe is new to the game i pick up quite fast from the voice chat(again why do i get these guys?) as DS tells him what items to get, not to feed etc. Ofcourse he proceeds to feed. i'm playing gyro and my friend is on death prophet, the opponents team have no hard carry but pretty sick early - midgame teamfight with like lich, earthshaker, batrider and stuff. So i keep explaining to turtle it out and win late game when i got some good items. Nope. The danes insist on teamfighting and pushing early and every single time, i get batridered in and raped before i can barely fire a single shot. Axe has no blink, 1 - 12 - 0 in stats despite us having around 20 kills on the board by the 25ish min mark. And axe proceeds to flame and blame. He has been a nonfactor this game, it would´ve been better if he wasn´t in it, he has litteraly had 0 positive impact on the game, like haven´t done a single thing that has helped us. Him and DS proceeds to initiate teamfights 2/3 vs 5 while i farm since, well, i need a BKB and a bunch of stuff for us to win this. And axe flames me for it, obviously, going on the "you are a big noob gyro omg" path, despite being completely new to the game himself and not having a clue wtf he´s doing.
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?! YOU HAVE BARELY PLAYED DOTA AT ALL AND YOU ARE ALREADY A SELF RIGHTEOUS PRICK WHO CANNOT LISTEN OR TAKE ADVICE FOR SHIT AND MUST BLAME OTHERS FOR YOUR INCOMPETENCE!
When i am new to a game, like i was when i started dota years ago, i generally don´t say much at all since i know i fucking suck. I ask for some tips if someone seems friendly and try to learn as good as i can. If someone flames me i just ignore it. What is it about dota, really? New players cannot be so fucking jaded, cynical and destroyed already since THEY HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED ANY GAMES YET. It´s like dota just turns people into flaming retards.

People need to find a scapegoat for everything, and most people cant admit their own mistakes.

I'd rather play against 5 nyx but not one Nature's Prophet. Fuck that motherfucker, I fucking hate him so much.

22/5/7 on batrider, completely destroying everyone and everything in my prime. Score is like 19-46 in our favour so we push to win right?
Nope, our WD/Potm/Tidehunter decide to farm for another 25 minutes while my strenght wanes and the enemy carries (3 of them) grows.
Once these idiots finaly decide its time to help push we've already lost. Fuck dota, im done for a while.

first game of the day, lost because people didnt wanna play together
Second game, enemy picks pl, I pick meepo, next picks of enemy team: ES, Sven, Lion, Mag fml xD

This happens in virtually all my matches, minus the me getting yelled at because A) The people I get paired with are so abysmal that I've made HARD CARRY BRISTLEBACK work with the score being 30-10 against us, and B) I don't pretend to coach or offer advice to idiots. I find if you stay silent, they aren't able to focus on you for long enough to contrive a reason to make it your fault.
I had a similar situation the other day. I was playing Magnus, and my team kept losing teamfights, in part because the Crystal Maiden died about 6 times before anybody had their ultimate. I was laning with that CM (Figured Tiny and Gyro needed the safe farm more), and trying to 2v1 a fed Luna and Earthshaker makes it hard to get good CS. Fast forward to when the other team decides they have a strong enough skill set to teamfight early (they did), Gyro is having an aneurysm that I'm not signing onto the retard brigade to 5 man dive mid to help make teamfights easier for the other team. I didn't have my blink dagger cuz of aforementioned terrible lanemate, and the Shadow Demon and I are trying to explain that we needed to farm, our lineup wasn't good for pushing, and our carries should not be waiting for fights in mid missing on xp when they're only level 10 with a subpar item set. We ended up winning because the Shadow Demon was amazing at keeping Tiny and myself alive, but I don't think a second went by without Gyro flaming, getting killed along with CM, and buying back for no reason.
The worst part is I don't have any set of skills that make me a particularly good DotA player. I'm at around 60 hours of DotA 2 playtime, I never played the original DotA and I never touched any Warcraft game. The closest thing I have to "experience" is a few StarCraft ladder seasons where I was comfortably mid-high BRONZE LEAGUE. The fact that there's such a massive group of players worse than me is really sad

I find whenever someone starts to flame and blame -> ignore, troll him, tell him he sucks. Then move on. While he's getting ganked over and over you find your own farm, pick off a kill here and there when possible.
For bonus points, at the end of match :"gg fucking retarded [insert hero] uninstall dota pls"
|
2 weeks and the servers for me are still fucked up... will they fucking fix them already or is Valve trolling?

Max search range game (knew i should decline that shit). 5 minutes in our mid Storm is 0-5 to their Juggernaut. Back to HoTS, cba playing game without even remotly working matchmaking system.

I hate it when people needlessly farm. It doesn't matter if the other team has a better/worse line up lategame, if we've won then fucking push.
God fucking help you if you say anything to some of these players though, hooooly shit.
Dota 2 - half the difficulty is working along with your teammates :D

Max Search Range goes both ways bud, meaning you could just as easily be teamed up with people with a higher MMR than you.

stupid mm-system. I like winning and getting high ranks. Always looking for if I got to Very High bracket even though I know it means nothing but it makes me feel good. Then I just had an awesome game with tryhard trilanes, wards, dust obs wards, warded creep stacks, mekas, pipes, all the good shit. however it was an normal game . I mean how the fuck am I suppose to see if I get better if the normal , high very high diesnt mean shit?

you just win, really.
I've opened 2 smurfs and I got to v. high on both within 10-30 games. I'm at 50 or so on one of them and it's a toss up whether I get queued with mediocre players or really bad players. Generally it takes only one bad player to lose you the game, so you basically have to make up for them somehow (be it through supporting/warding well as a 4/5, ganking or pushing or applying pressure as a mid or offlane, or just carrying super hard as a 1) 1 in 10 games if you are actually decent you'll get someone else good enough to carry your team as well; those are the 20 minute stomps your team wins.
Although, my main acct is stuck in the area between high and very high, and I think it's because my first 100 or so games I sucked and my internet also was pretty spotty. I don't play on it anymore except with a 5 man group because the games are bad regardless of the outcome :/

Just because people attempt to play "properly" doesn't mean their individual skill is particularly good. If you're playing in the higher brackets your rating is better, but since the brackets are very inclusive, a more accurate way to gauge the rating of your games is to look what page they're on. If you're consistently on page 1-5, you're probably a good player.
