Don't give up man. Take a couple weeks off the game and come back in with a fresh mind. Maybe that'll do you some good.

I really wish they would make some sort of work around so that you could recalibrate your unranked MMR to ranked. You work hard to get your MMR up to a level where you aren't forced to play support 80% of games, but God forbid I want to play an unranked game where I'm back in the shit. The system makes no sense; it forces you to pick one or the other or suffer awful matchmaking.
Oh, and I hate to get into all the psychologism and break it to you social darwinist MMR theorists, but there's really only two types of players: Shit players and not-shit players. Your only real hope is to find a non-shit player to carry you until you're not shit either. So basically you have to be really lucky, preferably with a RL friend who is not shit. Shit players will just be an anchor around your neck. You aren't going to find somewhat new players who are still learning and progressing and haven't been at the same level for the last 100 games. They're one in a thousand. It is incredibly hard for a person to, by themselves, pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Going from shit to not-shit is takes a shitton of effort and luck. That's the way it is in almost every video game community.

I haven't actually read as much bs in a single post before. Naturally there are lots of differently skilled players. In comparison to me and probably you a T2 team such as SNA/ROX/etc. is "non shit". In comparision to EG/NA'vi/DK .., those T2 teams are "shit".
This implies that skill is relative. This thereof implies that almost every player is shit, if matched with better players and non-shit, if matched with weaker players.
Plus there is actually no game, in which there are only two stages of skill.
Anyways im pretty sure they automatically recalibrate your unranked MMR and if you get matched with your so called shit players, it just means that you don't see your own mistakes while playing and you are just blaming your team for everything.

SEA MM is fucking retarded. Pick support and they instantly think that "oh hey we got infinte wards and couriers, let's pick 4 farm dependent heroes, meanwhile we would also forgo BKB against a lineup full of CC/silence because who needs magic immunity rite? more damage = more win" I'll never get above +14/15 win/loss difference queueing w/o friends.

You know what annoys me more than anything in gaming communities? This sentence right here. You know what's going on here? People conflate their ranking with their intelligence and so they suggest that anyone that's complaining is mentally weak. This is especially tempting to people who aren't very good because they can still pretend to be superior because they "have the right attitude". Of course good players use it too because a) it makes them look good b) like the average athlete, most can't actually explain why they are good or how to do well in conceptual terms. It's just lazy thinking and self-indulgent, unhelpful bullshit.
Did you actually think I was suggesting that there are only 2 skill levels? You can use whatever definition of shit and not-shit you want. You can call 1k shit and 2k not shit for all I care. If you're 1k, how do you get to 2k? You need someone to coach you or show you how to play better. You might be able to summarize this in a few paragraphs for 1k-2k. For 3k-4k this will take considerably more.
At whatever level you are at there are going to be people who are at your level and people who are above you. The people above you will, for the most part, not be interested in helping you. The people at your level are, for the most part, not engaged in serious learning. Your options are pretty limited, then. If you're lucky, you can beg someone higher to teach/carry you. Or, more likely, you'll try to find good partners at your level and find them pretty disappointing.
And your unranked and ranked MMR are separated after your first placement.

i hate axe. especially when this red piece of garbage wants to farm jungle
|
I'm tide. They're trying to push our t2 top, we're defending it. They're all pretty grouped, I blink in and get a 5 man ravage, anchor smash, mana boots, refresh, and ravage again.
The rest of the team sits behind our tier 2 twiddling their fucking thumbs. A double god damn 5 man ravage and they watch.
Also we had a sniper that built 0 health items, mom and had absolutely no concept of positioning. Not a good combination when he's our 1 pos and we kind of need him to not get randomly picked off in their jungle
EDIT: Next game we have a windrunner and enigma, neither buys wards or a courier. I'm tide again, trying to complete my daily hero challenge. I buy one as soon as I get 150 gold, our kunkka feeds and doesn't open it before tping back. WR thinks she's not a support and gets bitchy at me taking last hits, proceeds to feed. I abandon when we're 0-5 6 minutes in. First time in aaaaages.
|
SF mid vs Sniper. I get 3x the CS he does, fast items, and two attempted ganks on me fail. Eventually I am pinged and asked to come teamfight, I come and the teamfight is terribly uncoordinated and I die. Sniper has moved to top lane (leaving mid empty) and starts killing the two heroes there with his level 1 ult because they go for last hits until they have no hp left.
Toward the end it turns out I'm with a 4stack (is that why they never called missing?) and they're bitching me out for being a terrible SF and losing mid and feeding sniper. I say 'i won mid, watch the replay' and met with 'i don't need to, never play sf again'
I don't mind losing but I hate being bitched out for shit that didn't happen.

I'm just fucking so mad right now. I lost 25 mmr and got abandon because of a fucking blackout. Since summer our city have been having rotating blackouts. The electric company post schedules to which part of the city and what time the blackout occurs for us to be guided. guess what they don't follow the schedules. The rotating blackouts was supposed to end at the end of May. Out of nowhere this fucking blackout happens. Perks of living in a 3rd world country. GG!
I'm so mad because I was playing PA and my team were doing good. grrr

Ok. i think its time for me to start this kind of posts as well.
Daily hero challenge: Chen. Ok, Sounds great, wanted to play him more anyway.
First game: We have a Furion on my team that goes offlane, having a really good early game. Together we are getting ganks at their Pudge mid and their LD every few minutes. Taking towers left and right. Sadly we overextend at taking their rax (wich we got) but that ended in an teamwipe and they got 2 sex of raxes in return. Game was really close but we lost. Ok, I did really well with Chen, going next then.
Second game: With the right creeps we got some really sweet Lvl1 and 2 ganks on mid and our safelane. Really dominating the early game. Our Offlane CK is farming ok but spamming the chat with "well played". Ok, dont mind about that. During the early mid the teamfights are starting, we are doing pretty good as four as our CK is still farming, but now he is farming the jungle and pinging me every time i take a creep, while spamming "well played" all the time. And that is like how the game ended. CK NEVER came to any teamfight, farming our jungle, feeding the courier and hiding our items on it everywhere on the map, while spamming "well played". We could have easily taken this game from our huge early lead...
Third game: Nothing special here, just getting dominated with an Alch that contests LC's farm on safe while telling me to go support lane while LC should go farm the jungle.. Game ends 11-37 in 27 minutes.
Fourth game: Not much to say about that. Playing with a 4stack. Going 1-11 at min 10, going 3-29 at min 20. Game ends with 4-41 at min 25. I died 5 times as well, but our Tiny+Whisp feeding top, CK feeding bot and Krob feeding mid.. Not the best Chen in the world would have changed that. Every time i went somewhere ready to gank they backed off, and when i finally turned to get some farm again they went in and died...
Fifth game: Now i also have a CM on my team. The CM is plain awesome! Buying wards, courier, wards again, helps with the ganks etc. He even salves me after a fight. Im kinda falling in love with him. All the team is doing so well. I have Arcane and Mek in under 12 Minutes. Getting two towers. And then Mirana disconnects.. Were holding on quite well with our Juggernaught, but of course its not enough. Or is it? Somehow we really manage to come back while being 2 rax down. The 3stack of Invoker/Jugger/Cm are all doing so well. Finally a happy end for me.. thank you so much!
Its unbelieveable how long this took. And Chen is not even the reason. I wouldnt have won a single game of those with any other hero. The games were lost far beyond my reach..

The joys of least played mode. (Solo queue, trying to complete QoP for daily challenge) Rubick is off to a horrible start, I know the hero is paper, but he is still hardly supporting.
Me (as QoP): Rubick, why aren't you buying wards? Rubick: Sorry, this is least played mode, I know I'm not doing well. Me: No, I know everyone is not great with their abilities in LP, but you need to do the basic support stuff. Buy wards, courier, etc. Rubick: Since when was Rubick a support?
I promptly looked up the guy's profile...500+ games played. Wow.

Fuck support necro, it's useless.

I've played 2 games a few days back, was teamed up with two separate four stacks, one was Singaporean, the other were Thai. Well it was pretty bad that they didn't speak a word of english, but they did really good in the games, it's just hard to play when you can't communicate properly.
Then I had 2 games with a friend of mine who has lower rank than I do, and whenever we play, we lose because I play support and our carries always get out performed. But sometimes we get lucky and we get a good carry, games tend to be weird if there's a huge disparity within the rank of the party.
http://dotabuff.com/matches/709939189 Then I had a game with another friend, we were with a 2 stack thai and a solo thai player. laning was weird. My friend was lich mid, the solo thai was undying with my dazzle over at radiant safelane, and the 2 stack were ursa and bristle back. Ursa gets orb of venom first, then vlads, then VANGUARD! To make things worse, undying and bristle got a vanguard. Why? I don't fucking get why people think it's still a viable item, we are no longer in 2009 when it was a viable option. fucking hell. and oh, I stack the camps near the river thrice. read that, 2 3stacks. I ping it to ursa and bristle, explain in english in chat, but nope, they don't take it. We actually lost 1 stack cuz they were dumb, lich and I ended up taking the stacks for ourselves. And oh, Ursa did not take roshan until it was 30+ minutes. what a fucking joke. Not to mention that he likes to suicide into the enemy team. We only won because their bane left. bane would have raped the shit out of our ursa and we would lose.
Also had a game against a 5 stacked pinoy team. Man, my countrymen do not have the best manners. I was surprised they didn't wait for their Lina to come back when he got dc'ed.

Buying sentries against weaver, and our rubick decides to not lift him at all except for when he's alone (not being able to kill him) or outside of sentry range. Weaver can get levels, kills luna several times and wins the game. I like losing mmr because of peopple like this. Just love it.
