Yeah, but it'll probably be worth a lot 2 year from now when they're harder to find :D value will be like an inverted bell curve, with respects to time lol I can't decide whether I should trade mine right now or hold onto it for later since the supply will only go down (since the quantity is fixed and people will gradually quit the game). Does anybody from TF2 know how these limited edition summer items work? Do their prices gradually increase over time, or does nobody care enough to buy them anymore after a while since Valve adds new summer items every year?
Summer items in TF2 were released in the store a while after the event ended. The dota 2 summer items will most likely follow the same pattern, meaning the value will drop eventually. The big question is if it will drop before or after f2p because if it drops after the summer items will increase in value a bit more when f2p comes. The Timebreaker will be a bit different though because its vintage and valve has confirmed it will not be available in the future.

Holy shit your trading scheme is broken.1 common for 1 key?
I understand the whole 'if you don't like the deal then don't take it' thing, but you are blatantly ripping people off.1 rare for 5 keys? Even if you took the most expensive rare it would be a $5->$12 trade...

@Anacletus there are rare, uncommon and common that cant be bought, therefore a key is a good price for them
for example Tiny Skin, is a rare now that can't be bought and you wont be able to get it if you dont buy one that already exists, 5 keys is a good price for that
PS: new inventory, same rates
First, second and third columns are common Fourth column uncommon Fifth column rare Sixth column strange + Show Spoiler +

There are no commons that cant be bought. Unless you mean stranges, but even common stranges don't go for a key. As for rares, even the most expensive rares that cant be bought in store only go for about 2-3 keys and most rares are half a key to a key.

Dude do you even know how trading works? Normally a 1:2 trade is for a trader who has a ton of items (which ppl can pick and choose from), ad in return, he wants any 2 items that the trader has. You, on the other hand, have next to no items. Also, Tiny Skin does not go for 5 keys. In the future it may, but not at the moment. It's worth about 1-2keys atm. I normally wouldn't post about "bad" offers (I mean if no-one trades with you it's your problem right?), but this thread has less stupidity than many other trading threads out there, and I don't want ppl to ruin it -.-

Yeah most of his items aren't even very good, and there's no way tiny skin is worth 5 keys lol.
But if you feel otherwise, I'd sell all my tiny skins to you for 4 keys

There are about 25000 timebreakers in server since it was an uncommon. There are two ways to think of it, it will drop after the hype/release of more items for (more popular) heroes or wait for 1/2 years to make it truly becomes 'vintage' especially when f2p comes (but i doubt that it will ever go as high as those unusual cour because the item effect is pretty meh). For now what i can see is that you can hardly get 3 keys from it so it is actually a good time to buy in if you wanted one (i suspect the price will keep dropping until f2p), i sold mine for about the value of 6 keys right after the patch :p
Apparently they have done something like this in TF2 (cape, earbuds etc). This 'economy' in a game is something new to me and i have some free time atm so is all fun that i play abit of the trading game xD
edit: i do however hated those 'trading only' trader...those people have no love for the heroes/items so it is very very hard to get a good and fair deal with them. Avoid them at all cost! The most common ones are the those 1:2 traders. Click 'ignore' under their name to save yourself some lags in the chat channel because they are usually the spammer too.

That's not very nice, I've gotten some pretty good deals from those 1:2 traders. Also earbuds were promitional items, much like every valuable item in tf2.
There's a lot of speculation on summer items because nobody knows if they're going to add them to the store or not. Timebreakers will probably stay at a low price for at least another 4-5 months, you also have to remember the hero's popularity plays a role in it as well (why do you think invoker and morphling items are so popular?). Also don't really know what "trading only" traders are, aren't all traders looking to trade items? /shrug
My advice if you want a timebreaker: Buy it a week from now, since it will only go up in price from there. A good example from TF2 would be to look at the vintage Concherer and Vintage Fan of War. There was only a limited time to get the vintage version, and now they're really expensive. Sera is right about the commonality of the item, so it will be a while until they start appreciating.
