Ropid you do realize the majority of Corsair's early PSUs used Seasonic don't you? There's a reason I have this view on Seasonic in the first place, even if the power delivery itself is just fine.
I left my 620HX on a shelf in favor of the CWT TX750 because the coil whine was that bad. The Enermax Modu+ series at that time was also free of the squeal. I confirmed this by trying my GTX260 in my friend's rig too (who also had a Modu+ at that time).

I really want to see my actual idle power, i'm sat looking at TL now, listening to music, talking on skype etc. 800mhz CPU, package power reported 18w. My GPU reports a bit over 5% of tdp in usage (12-13w) and RAM 10 watts. I'm sure there's a ton more usage than that, but it seems pretty awesome.

My 2500k's package useage reported is only 7.5W at 1600MHz, what is this?

I'm considering an upgrade for the host of games that will be coming with this generation and would like some of your thoughts!
What is your current build? Win 7, 64 bit home prem edition Intel i5-2500k, OC'd to 4.7g Noctua NH-D14 2 x GTX570's in SLI (Asus OC'd versions, I've upped the voltages slightly in the past to get stability out of the cards) Corsair HX1050 Power Supply Gigabyte z68-UD5-B3 mobo 8GB (2x4G) GSkill DDR3-1600 RAM Raven 02 B-EW Case
System is 2.5 years old
What is your monitor's native resolution? Monitor is 1920 x 1080, 120hz
Why do you want to upgrade? What do you want to achieve with the upgrade? As my monitor is 120hz, and I enjoy gaming with lots of eye candy, I want to be able to play coming games at very high to max settings, 1080 resolution and 120+ FPS.
I'd also like to add a SSD.
What is your budget? ~$2000 (don't mind going a bit over if it's worth it)
What country will you be buying your parts in? Australia
If you have any brand or retailer preferences, please specify. PCCaseGear.com Centrecom.com.au
Not sure if it's worth retaining any of the parts or whether I should just start over; my typical upgrade cycle is one big purchase every 2-3 years anyway.

Sounds like you might want two 780's, you could spend a bunch going to Haswell too on the CPU front but the performance upgrade is much smaller there, hard to guarantee more than 10 or 15% in many games and applications
Take a look at this - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/831?vs=764
Linked vs Titan, because the custom cooled 780's* are neck and neck with titans on the stock bios's and even if you're an extreme overclocker, titan is only a bit better (paying like 50% more for 10% better performance) but really, for the average person, they're basically identical. See this: http://www.overclock.net/t/1400319/titan-vs-780-stock-bios-reference-card-oc-battle/0_20
If you wanted to iterate on the CPU, we've got Haswell-E coming probably with solder (so it'll run cool) and 6-8 cores in second half of 2014 to first half of 2015 on the enthusiast platform, or Skylake coming with faster quad cores and maybe a mainstream intel 6 core in 2015-2016, which would basically be 2500k/2600k equivelants in the market and hopefully be more of an upgrade
*I meant like the windforce model, for example. Titan only has(had? i have not heard much from them recently) a reference cooler which looked great but performed pretty bad in terms of GPU temperatures relative to the offerings from asus, gigabyte etc, but nvidia locked down the titan models and didn't let anybody sell them with anything but the reference cooler, at least at first. I'm not certain that this is still the case, but there's still little reason to buy a titan over a 780, they're soo close in performance unless you want some niche features (6gb vram, fp64 performance) or are an extreme overclocker (bios flashed, water block etc)

i5-2500k should be plenty fine if it's overclocked.
Just replace the GTX 560 with another graphics card.
Thank you for the quick reply!
I have already ordered an EVGA Titan, added cooling and OCed the 2500k to 4Ghz from stock (3.3ghz)
Any chances of bottlenecking the Titan?

What's your cpu cooler? Because you can def OC higher then that. And an i5 OC'd will rarely bottleneck you except in a rare few cases and games (sc2 being one of them, but i haven't read your previous post so don't know which ones you are talkign about), and even then it should only be a light bottleneck.

Why'd you order a titan?
And 4ghz 2500k isn't the strongest (paired with highest end gpu's), many games are CPU bound
|
Hi Guys thanks for the support
Got the TITAN cause it was particularly at a good deal
I had the contac29 (fan) have no idea what I added lol but at 4ghz cpu temp is 50ish (light use not load), is this healthy?

Need load temps to say, and voltage
what did you pay for titan vs 780 cost?

I need help with my computer it won't detect my hdd or.my dvd drivers for some...I look into the bios and any sata I tried to change it still won't detect it......mother is the gigabyte z87x,i7. Need help please.

Drives have two cables, one for data that connects to the motherboard and one for power that comes from the power supply. Did you plug both of them into the drives?
|
All been plugged right just won't be detected in the bios. I tried to see if changing the bios setting will detect it and no result...could it be driver failure?

Try restarting a few times to see if they pop up, probably not it but i heard of bug with this on giga boards
|
Yes from what I read it might be a motherboard bug I redtarted a few time did 10 tries..I think I have to go to ncix and figured out...oh but when I tried a a dvd drove from another computer it was working.
|
I had defective parts after all...
|
New problem...when I run bios mouse and keyboard are fine but now when window start the keyboard and mouse goes inactive....what could be the problem
|
Are you plugging your keyboard and mice into the USB2 ports (black ones)?
|
Yea we did plug it on the black....do you have any suggestion? Running out of option this build is making me hustle for my money the problem is when we go into bios mouse/keyboard works fine but when the windows start it goes offline and stay offline. We are unable to install windows.

Found the solution...load the default setting. Thanks you all
