[H] Mouse keeps freezing

HI TL

It seems I am having a plethora of problems lately... This one is by far the most annoying. I have a 2012 Razer Imperator and the mouse on the screen keeps freezing, randomly and without warning. As you can imagine this is particularly troublesome when my lings are headed into a horde of banelings. It's a sad sight.

I have tried updating the drivers, made sure its plugged in correctly at the back... Restarted the PC (this has been happening for a couple days) and all that jazz... However nothing seems to work.

I am running windows 7 64bit, like I said... Razer Imperator 2012, drivers all updated etc..

Any ideas guys?

Does it freeze temporarily? or once frozen, does it stay frozen?

Sorry, should have specified.

It freezes temporarily, and it might also be worth nothing that when it freezes I am still able to click, and that works fine... The cursor just wont move.

Clean the lens, with a Qtip + a glasses cleaner or something. Looks like you've got some dust on, it wouldn't let you click if it was a problem with the mouse I guess.

more likely is the mouse surface is dirty dust wouldn't cause intermittent problems

Also, can you try testing the mouse on another computer? preferably one with sc2 on it... just to see if the issue is unique to your pc, or if it is with the mouse itself.

I have a similar problem with my mouse when a single strand of cat hair magically finds its way through the tiny opening and onto the sensor D:

I have same problem with Razer Imperator if I try to use it on my own computer, but works fine on other computers. Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

I've started to get the same problem on my quite old now Razer Imperator 2012 after tinkering with many possible solutions, here is what I came up with:

-First of all turn off surface calibration. (Is it even useful on functioning mice?!)
-Try different mouse pads/surfaces.
-Update Mouse Firmware:

If all of the above fails. Put a piece of electrical tape covering the second sensor(off center).
This what solved my problem.
*Note* Surface Calibration should be off.

Hope it helped! It's to bad to throw away the Imperator, I find it extremely comfortable.
