Which old method do you mean? Did you try the Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider?

Thats the method he tried.

Yeah tried MikeMartin method , unfortunately doesn't work. Also tried the NGOHQ (http://www.ngohq.com/news/15043-how-to-increase-usb-sample-rate-in-windows-vista-7-a.html) method and even tried manually copying HIDUSBF.SYS to WoW64 folder , no go as well.

I think you are gonna need to get the dev kit and sign your own drivers.
Good luck.

You generally dont have to worry about CPU cycles for a mouse. We are beyond that. PS2 for mice isnt recommended (its the best thing for keyboards though).
|
That's true, CPU cycles isn't a major concern with PCs these days.
Why isn't PS2 recommended for mice ? Where did you hear that ?
Mouse performance feels great with PS2 and the tweaks, definitely an improvement from default Windows 8 settings (125Hz USB).

Most mice can do 500hz over USB though, and some 1k
|
Yeah USB can OC upto 1000Hz but I dont really notice an improvement over 500Hz.
Was trying out Windows 8 but gotta say, even ignoring the inability to OC the USB, Im not too impressed with Win 8. Im sticking with Windows 7.

Because 1ms of input lag is almost impossible to detect
|
Depends on the person and the mouse, but generally speaking yeah.
|
What mouse are you using? Is my Sensei running at 1000 hz or do I have to apply a fix in 7?
|
The mouse only transmits data when the host controller asks for it, so even if you had your mouse set to 1000Hz, unless your USB port is configured to 1000Hz there will be a bottleneck at the motherboard end. Also, PS/2 default speeds are either 40 or 80Hz an can be clocked to 200-250 iirc.

There is so much lag from other processes. On a 60hz screen you have a 16.6ms delay between frame updates, so if you move your mouse at the right time you wont see any movement for at least that long. 1/1000'th of a second is an impossibly small window to detect or feel. In a blind test i dont think it is even humanly possible to differentiate between 1ms and 2ms of mouse input lag on top of every other factor.

WMO 1.1A , not sure about the Sensei but check your software. Otherwise you can OC your USB upto 1000Hz using this article from NGOHQ; http://www.ngohq.com/news/15043-how-to-increase-usb-sample-rate-in-windows-vista-7-a.html

Yeah that is why most people myself included use 500Hz. I have seen other gamers who use 1000Hz and prefer that, whatever floats your boat.
