 im thinking about streaming some intresting stuff for others,but my pc can't handle it ;(. So I wonder is it possible to stream with another pc your main pc? I still have some older pc's haning around in the basement. And if yes do you have a source or anything to do it? Thanks inadvance. (p.s. streaming is: games and such. I also know its not my internet because it doesn't lag when im just browsing or stuff , it only does ingame and also single player) | ||

Hauppauge! Colossus for example can do this and many others. This way all the encoding power gets done on the recording pc and frees up every resources available for the gaming computer. When doing that you can easily stream with 60fps, basicly going hardcore tournament quality on your stream. Im planning on the same thing myself when i get enough money  | ||

It makes me wonder, for everyone but the most avid streamers (ones who actually make money off this), if it's worth spending 2-3x more money for this kind of setup when it may offer only marginal benefits. Not to mention that if you don't have a partnership with the stream websites, your users won't be able to select which resolution they want; and not all would be able to watch streams at 1080p even if they wanted too. | ||

The general idea is that you want to offload the resource-heavy task of encoding/compressing the videostream to a second computer, to minimize the effect of streaming has on your game machine. The encoding machine still needs to be rather beefy and as was posted before, if you're not a Twitch partner, your stream won't have a resolution-selection options, which means that if you stream at 1080p, alot of people won't be able to watch. | ||

And the difference is huge since you can use ultra quality settings in SC2 now, dont have to stream with medium or low due to lack of processing power. And can do 1080P with 60fps if u want. I think DJWheat is using this kind of setup and it shows. Supersmooth stream. | ||

I got an AverMedia HDMI recorder and it only does 720p at 30fps. I would imagine it'd be very expensive. | ||
