Do you have any software installed for your video card? As JingleHell stated above, unless you have some other software installed, really the only way for that to happen is for the mic to also be picking up yoru speakers. | ||

Yep, they hear me and game sound, music, etc. If I mute my mic and play music for example, it will still pick up the music. I think it might be a software issue, as this randomly started happening a few weeks ago (after having no issues). | ||

The way we fixed it (I don't see why this worked, but it did): Go Control panel -> sound -> recording -> microphone properties -> levels (tab) then set the slider down to like 2 (almost all the way to the left).. this can be done in the Skype settings as well... ...cos the problem is sensitivity.. the microphone should only sense the sound of voices, not background noise.. so it has some kind of filter or sensitivity system... I just found that moving the level down so it takes in less sound worked... it might require your friend to turn up your sound ... or you to turn up your microphone sound for whatever you are using it for... hope that helped, if not i dunno... been having the same issues before that for a while myself.. so i understand your frustration.. EDIT: oh, just read now that you are using a headset.. in that case its really strange, unless your headset is ultra loud.. but still... it sounds like a software problem.. or some weird settings gone bad... anyway try my solution and if that doesnt work then i dunno.. format your harddrive and open your computer.. take a hammer and try to hit the motherboard carelessly and violently..
