Recently, (1 month ago) I bought a Razer Blackwidow keyboard. The main things I've used it for are playing SC2 and writing essays.
It hasn't been a frequent occurrence but every once and a while, only during games, it seems like the left shift key switch has stuck. I say it seems because the key itself is in the normal position, but when I select units it adds them all to the active group among other things. (like the enter key not responding) Because it hasn't happened very often, I haven't really thought about it until today.
Just to reiterate, with all my typing with this keyboard, this problem hasn't occurred. It has only ever happened during SC2 games. (ladder games.. never customs :/)
So... What do you recommend I do? And is it safe (nothing will break) to remove the keys from the Blackwidow?

Edit: Yeah, I mean taking of the actual key so you can see under it.

Razer doesn't recommend it per Warranty (huge lol) Maybe because their keycap plastic is so thin?
But yes a feature of Cherry MX switches is replaceable keycaps.

Removing the keycaps is perfectly safe when done correctly. I added rubber O-rings to my keycaps to dampen the sound and with a keycap puller the procedure was pretty straightforward. The longer keys (shift, spacebar, etc...) I had to force a bit since they also have stabilizers, but it's constructed in such a way that stuff clicks loose (allowing you to click it back in place afterwards) rather than breaking.

@Rannasha why would anyone dampen the sound of a keyboard? The fun part is hearing you own apm!

That may be true but for some people they have to consider the people around them and their surroundings. Some people find it disturbing.

My wife doesn't like hearing my apm ^^
But the O-rings only dampen the "clack" sound when the key bottoms out. The characteristic actuation-click from blue switches is unchanged and quite noticeable still.

this happens to me also. ill have a WTF moment when all my control groups go crazy and everything is rallied to weird places. damn it sucks its happening to other people. any tech geeks here know how to fix it?? maybe its a software issue?

So I didn't end up taking the keys off or anything. A sharp tap of the left shift key fixes the problem easily during games :D

You can take it off easily, but it is difficult to put back into place.

The "click" sound from my ctrl key is gone on my das :/, also gets stuck occasionally..

I got a razer blackwidow mac edition and was faced with this same problem. Any known fixes or triggers to this problem ?

Some people have jobs and having a very loud keyboard coupled with high WPM will literally drive your coworkers insane.
