Where does the slang come from to say "them" instead of "the" or "their"?

Maybe, not really. They have low-end and high-end stuff just like most everybody else. You don't become the #3 computer mobo manufacturer by putting out all bad products. Some people have issues with their motherboards, but the same could be said for everybody. I'm not sure if there's a higher incidence rate or not.

AsRock generally puts out low-priced motherboards relative to the features and capabilities (i.e. good values), but they often give shorter warranties than some competitors.

Thanks for the reply, a friend was saying that you should NEVER buy Asrock because they're bad or something along those lines (btw this is the same friend who thought AMD > Intel.

I just wanted to add that I have an ASRock motherboard and functionally speaking it works great. If I had one gripe it would be a complete lack of onboard LED's for relaying errors and the like. My last motherboard had 4 LED's for various errors but this motherboard (Pro3 SE P67) is entirely dark.

You mean like "Them broodlords" instead of "those broodlords"?

I dunno english is cooky since we lost a lot of articulate words when we started filling our chiefly Germanic roots with Latin words. For instance the global plural "you" is simply "you" instead of the most correct "thou."

I have a question about integrated graphics.... I'm pretty sure that the motherboard used to house the integrated graphics, correct? And now, because the integrated graphics are built onto the die (correct?) of both llano and SB/IVB, what happened to the motherboard IGP (in laptops, or in desktops with an IGP mobo)? Does it default to the integrated onto the die graphics, or do motherboards just simply no longer come with integrated gpus? I think that's enough for the gist of the question, thanks.

The IGP along with things such as the memory controller was part of the north bridge. The north bridge no longer exists on FM1 and LGA1155 motherboards, all of its functions are on the CPU now.

Having a very strange issue with playing lan games with my friends. This concerns the games Brood War and Rise of Nations Gold Edition.

We have 3 computers all wired up to the router via ethernet. However, whenever MY computer tries to host, it will never work. They can see my game listed but they cannot join. But they can host and I can join theirs! What is going on? I have all ports forwarded correctly and we even tried gameranger and hamachi.

Also, although I can play Brood War when they host the game, for some reason whenever we try Rise of Nations I will always drop. Only my computer. We play for a couple minutes and bam I get lagged out. What is going on? I reformatted my computer and troubleshooted all night but to no avail.

It is never their computers screwing up, only mine! I am very confused and would love the help of networking gurus as to what I can do to fix this issue. Thank you.

I was looking for a simple guide ( i have found many guides, but they are a bit to vague for me to follow) to OC a i5 2500k. I have an asrock z68 e3g3. Any tips for a beginner would be useful.

Cheers

Simple guides are usually vague... not sure what you're looking for. Overclocking a 2500k just involves increasing the multiplier and adjusting vcore. The rest of the settings can be left on auto for mild overclocks.

I am currently building my PC and have been split between the z68 ASRock e3g3 and an ASUS p8p67, don't know the differences nor the advantages of either, if you could inform me on it that would be awesome!!!

Asrock Z68 Extreme3 can do SLI while P8P67 cannot. P8P67 is better in everything else.

How can it be better in everything else? sorry for naggging just curious? I plan on not going SLI so that means I would go with p8p67 but im not positive on which to choose because there are plenty of versions.

There is only one P8P67. If you are talking about the P8P67 Pro or P8P67 LE or any suffix than you're not talking about the P8P67.

P8P67 has more connectivity, USB3 header, better CMOS placement, more phases, better warranty, better UEFI, and whatever else you can think of... It's only lacking SLI, Z68 chipset, and debug LED / on-board buttons that the Asrock Extreme3 has.

Hmmmm so the p8p67 is just that and the others different mobo's even though they have the p8p67 name? and p8p67 does allow overclocking just not SLI/crossfire?

P8P67 LE is P8P67 LE, what is so hard to understand about that? P8 refers to the generation of ASUS boards, P67 is the chipset, and suffix denotes tier.

All P67 boards allow for overclocking. All P67 boards with two PCI-E x16 slots allow for CrossfireX (which includes the P8P67).

Thanks you for clearing this up for me, if all I plan to do is overclock and not SLI etc then I strictly just need the p8p67, correct?

Yes? P8P67 is a $150 board... are you sure you even want / need such an expensive board? If you're just looking for a board to overclock than you can just get the Asrock P67 Pro3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157230
