PCI-e to molex adapter looks like this: ![[image loading]](http://www.computer-answers.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/molex-pci-e_power.gif) Some video cards include them in the package. If not included then you'll have to go buy one for like $1 or something. Sweet thanks!
Are all the PCIe to molex the same or will I require a special type? Thanks again

R9 280X Vapor-X requires two 8pin PCIe connectors so you'll need to get a two molex to 8pin PCIe connector.

You've been a big help, last inquiry

This is what it says will come with the GPU, is this what i'm looking for?

Yes, that's exactly what you need. You won't have to hunt down adapters.

Trying to capture a portion of a DVD to a file that can be uploaded to Youtube. Used xsplit to capture the video around the portion I want. Now I need to convert this flv file created by xsplit to another format that can be edited by Sony Vegas. Tried converting the flv to mp4 using VLC media player, but it only transfers the video, not the audio. Tried using Yamb to convert but apparently Yamb doesn't recognize flv files now. Any tips?

You know you are being a little confused by using xsplit, right? You are now trying to convert its output, but you could have converted from the file on the DVD instead.
I think "Handbrake" will do everything you want. You can also rip from the DVD with it, I'm pretty sure. You can set a start and end time for which part of the whole video to convert to a new video.
The website of that program: http://handbrake.fr/

I'm pretty sure Handbrake doesn't support VOB and Handbrake's duration isn't really accurate.

Just tried using Handbrake to convert the flv created from xsplit but it didn't convert the audio, only the video. This should not be that fucking hard to accomplish lol how the fuck do I convert a fucking flv to mp4???????????????????????

Free xsplit will give you .flv with speex audio unless they updated it, it's pretty much useless for converting to other formats etc. A lot of messy stuff.
If you're looking for a free solution to do what you are trying to do the way you are trying to do it, use OBS. Should give you screen capture and/or some way to hook into the media player, with mp4/aac output from encoding, which you can easily use or work with

So, I basically have a vertical line maybe 80-100 pixels wide and filling the entire height of the monitor that shows pixels with a certain color in their inverted? color. Not only that, it also keeps flickering. It's mostly unnoticable while playing games (because it really only affects a certain whitish-yellow-greyish pixel color), but is more prevalent during regular desktop work (for example, right click menus on the line area get a blue line over them).
It cannot be related to any drivers or videocards because it also shows up when I connect my Wii to the monitor. This basically also means (I guess) that it cannot be the wires or connectors because my Wii and PC use different ones.
So, I'd probably be able to conclude from this that my monitor is dying, no?

Can't say I've heard of a monitor failing in quite that way before. It would be covered under any extended warranty, though.

Something is very strange about my computer...
First: My monitor and HDD's dont follow the power options. My monitor never shuts off and my HDD's always shut off. Second: Sometimes one of my HDD's disappears until I restart my computer. Third: Firefox freezes for a second when there are bulk images (chrome is fine though) on say imgur, then loads them almost all at once
What could possibly cause any of this?

Two pretty simple questions.
1: I'm running a nearly 7.5 year old rig, Tyan K8WE S2895, upgraded to dual 285's and wondering if there is any method I could use to OC them, running a liquid cooling system for the CPU's only.
2: Testing "PSU's" without a motherboard, I know about the paperclip trick but many months ago I saw a more "commercial" version for a 24 pin connector with the 2 connectors attached. Plug the PSU into that instead of using a paperclip to trick it into powering on and making sure the PSU is functional. I can't seem to find out what that thing is called or where I could grab one.

GPU is overclocked through software such as MSI Afterburner, EVGA Precision, etc. Nearly all major brands have their own software.
Google power supply tester.

sorry skyr I meant OC'ing the CPU's (Opteron 285's dual socket 940 board), the BIOS doesn't have any real major settings I could find. As far as the PSU tester, I'm not looking for the actual testing units, just the plug which "tricks" the PSU into powering up anything else plugged into it to ala a paperclip, but the one I remember was an actual 24pin connector.
edit, I found it http://www.frozencpu.com/psu-173.html

If it's a prebuilt than there's not much you can do as they often limit the BIOS settings. I think there's a few threads on this motherboard around the web that may help you.
