Looks much clearer to me while 1280x720 games look really fuzzy. (1600x900 native screen) Am I just hallucinating or misunderstanding something about 720p streaming? I'm sure I'm not clicked on 720p+ btw, it's definitely 720p. Which streaming site? I guess most use Adobe Flash? I'm not sure what exactly it does on fullscreen mode, but most likely the CPU or GPU is scaling the image to fit your full monitor resolution. There are very many different scaling algorithms that can be used for resizing in general—different scaling algorithms have different computational complexity, sharpness, aliasing artifacts, ringing artifacts, and more, so there are tradeoffs. If you're playing a game and making your video card output 720p to a 900p monitor, you're using the monitor's built-in scaler to stretch the image to the 900p. Most monitors have a scaler that sucks balls, so it's no surprise that the image sucks.

Also, would it be worth waiting until around December to get a new laptop for things like holiday sales and windows 8?

Most monitors have a scaler that sucks balls, so it's no surprise that the image sucks. This is actually the one place where TVs will sometimes shine over a cheaper monitor. You'll see slight input lag when scaling, but the quality is much better than a lot of monitors. But, depending on the TV, you're dealing with some combination of input lag, bad pixel density, 1080i, or obscene prices.

An issue mainly appearing while querying DayZ server list, as I've never been much into multiplayers that are based on lots of servers to choose from. I have to use reduced ping rate (From "DayZ commander") to see all results of server search (it sort of skips some without it I guess), but the real issue is, I can't use browser or connect other network using programs, everytime get time out. While if I have stream open for example, it continues to work during search, or I can use steams chat during it. I've got some suggestions to see modem settings, some to get a new modem, some claiming that it is my network. I have adsl connection, with ZyXEL p660hw-d1 modem (heard some bad stories of this also) as router, no bridge. Only one machine connected to the router. Not sure if it lacks any important details, do ask if so, and/or suggest me where this thread belongs to if not here.

i dont know what you mean exactly, what is 'locks b windows key' mean? ... but when I press the win lock button, then the button with the windows logo on it (a windows button?), the start menu still pops up. Same if i hold the win lock button. When I press it, sometimes, a right click menu pops up (i guess just like what the picture on the key shows it does).

![]() Presumably the models with the menu key don't have the same functionality.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E530 at 3795,- DKR http://www.laptops.dk/product_info.php?products_id=4554 & ASUS X53Z 15.6" HD at 3195,- DKR http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=656891 Aside from the price, is there anything the ASUS has going for it aside possibly a slightly better GPU? Is there really anything at the same price range that could compete with a ThinkPad right now?

I think the ThinkPad at 3800 is just about pushing his budget so I'd say 4k at most.

Hold down the right-Alt key, and press the WinLock key. This will lock the windows key, which means that pressing it won't do anything. To unlock the windows key, hold right-Alt and press WinLock again. The idea is that when you're in a game, you don't want to accidently bump the windows key and get pulled out of the game. When you don't use right-Alt, it's just a normal properties/rightclick key. I don't remember how I figured this out. It didn't help that the keyboard instructions were in Chinese.
