Hi guys,
I wanted to share my expirience with a new mice i got: Logitech G303.

Before I start, Id like to tell you clearly, I bought over 20 mices in the last 8 years, and I only liked the following:

Logitech Optical Mini.
Logitech G3.

I had many mices but they all failed at something.
The biggest reason i liked this mice was because It took me about 4 minutes to get used to it (even G3 took me over 4 days).

Its light (so no overshooting due to newtons first law), the side fingers do not touch the mousepad (I always had a problem with those fingers when playing), and the sensor is very good (not high dps, just very presice).

it is a CLAW GRIP mice with medium size hand in mind (I REALLY do not advice this mouse for small or big hands, ask me if you want more details).

Also another thing thats amazing, and i really mean amazing is the click recoil speed (that means the time it takes for the button to go from pressed, to beeing able to be pressed again).

Its the fastest I have expirienced. That includes roccat and razer mices.

Im not going to go into the cord or the leds, those are marketing things I dont care about as a gamer.

my 2 cents.

Got my g303. It has a bit of rattle (replacement's on the way), but it's pretty great.

just a heads up, the g303 currently is on amazon germany for 47 €, it was close to 70 € usually

That only lasted a week. The price is back to 63 € right now.

I bought a returned one for 38 € while the price was low. It has that issue where the lens is moving. I opened the mouse up and fixed it myself. It seems very possible to open the mouse without breaking anything as it is held together purely by screws without any plastic clips being used.

Those two tiny strips of mouse feet around the sensor are different material on the G303 compared to the G302 and G402. It seems to be Teflon, while it seemed to be crappy plastic on the cheaper G302 and G402.

Don't count on that helping anything, i've heard reports of people sending them back again and again only to get 3-4 mice in a row with the issue

seen success from both opening mouse and securing stuff better and also temporary fix from pushing the lens(?) into the mouse a bit using a q-tip from the hole underneath of mouse

yeah I know, but amazon returns are painless and I'm willing to play the slot machine a couple times.

I don't think it's worth it til the issue is fixed, you're just gonna get lucky on the third mouse and then it'll start doing the same issue in a months time. It's relatively minor.. for now

man is it really that bad? I guess I just lucky with my G303? I don't hear the rattle at all.

if you shake the mouse of course you'll hear some rattling but at that should only be coming from the buttons and not the lens plate

It doesn't move much (it's quite literally a few pixels for me, i never would have noticed it if it wasn't pointed out) but mine was not loose when i got it

i hope they just improve the build quality some and we can get them fixed. There's no reason to have this on their flagship mouse

I could push the lens around with a toothpick without force required, so it was definitely loose. It didn't move a lot, but I assume it would be a good amount of pixels at higher DPI settings like 2000 or so. At 800 DPI, it's perhaps like the distance for selecting a character in this text here. There wasn't really a rattle noise without shaking the mouse around very hard. There could very well not have been any issue in normal use for this mouse. I think I opened the mouse more because I was interested in seeing what kind of mistake they made in their design and not because of a real problem.

whats the differenc between g303 and g302?

I remembered all the hype about G30X when i was shopping and impulse bought a G302, not knowing it was an old model.

So do i go with it and open it or return it?

Different sensors, RGB led, braided cord, and a couple of extra skates.

G303's launch price didn't justify the premium over G302 but at this point in terms of street price, it should be the better buy, the rattle issue aside.

I would return it for the G303 if you can get it at a good price IMO.

well its a german hardware shop, its overpricved and out of date, ill see if they even have the "new" one, only reason i buy there is because they are the only store that lets people try out the mice before buying.

ok i tried it a bit, braided cord and side skates would be good, but i wonder if its worth another 20 euro plus gambling for a not loose sensor.

302 might even have the same problem

corsair just released a naga-clone mouse but looks a bit lighter and seems to have 3366. Once again they completely fucked up the idea of RGB lighting

At this point, who really cares if it's RGB? It's gonna be yellow no matter what color you select.

I'm pretty sure it's objectively not worth 20 €, at least for me. I bought the G303 after the G302 just because I'm an idiot basically, so wasted around 40 €. The cable on the G303 seems less stiff, and that might be the main improvement in practice. I'm not sure there's something real happening with regards to the sensor's performance (I use 800 dpi). I tried drawing a bunch of lines and shapes in Paint with both mice at 800 dpi, and at that resolution there was no difference to see. The mice felt a bit different but that should be the different glide and cable.

I replaced the G302's cable with a thin one from an old mouse I had after a few weeks of use when I was sure that I definitely like and will keep the mouse for myself. On my G303 that I got recently, I also had to work on the internals. It had that loose lens issue. Having to work on the insides of the mouse feels a bit shitty with an expensive mouse.

How did you fix the loose lens?

How did you fix the loose lens?

The lens is the center of a clear plastic part. On that plastic part, there are grooves going in circles around the lens.

The inside of the bottom shell of the mouse similarly has some sort of grooves going in circles around the hole for the sensor.

The grooves of the lens part and of the bottom shell fit into each other. My idea was to make that a tight fit to prevent the rattle. I stuck a piece of clear scotch tape over the stuff on inside of the bottom shell of the mouse and made a cut for the sensor hole in the middle, then reassembled the mouse.

Perhaps plastic wrap as used in the kitchen for storing food might have been better because it would have been less thick than typical scotch tape.

You need a very small size cross-head screwdriver to open the mouse, same tiny size as what you'd use when working on a smartphone.

My replacement g303 has no/little rattle, so I'm happy for now. It's back to 50$ on amazon though.

since the mic is pretty loud and sensitive you can actually hear the lens rattle at 1:40 - 1:45
