could get it cheaper if I ordered a MW3 version of it but that simply will not happen!
Heard a lot of good about this mouse and it can't get worse after using a horrible Steelseries mouse. Wow they make some trashy stuff.
If you play without the shell you could as well just have bought the cheaper mw3 edition, I bought two of them for 65 € some time ago. :D

lol yeah imagine the feeling when I found out that playing without shell may suit me better lol. Just played my first game with it and it felt really awkward.
it feels "jerky", will probably need some time to get used to it and also customize settings and such.

1. What's your grip style? palm 2. What's your sensitivity? low to medium 3. What's your maximum budget? no more than $80 4. Do you want additional buttons? yes 5. What games do you play? sc2, various fps games 6. Do you mind angle snapping? no 7. Other relevant information: would prefer driverless with some onboard memory, but that is not too important. my current mouse is a deathadder

So i got a g9x recently after using a KinzuV2 for years. It feels like a very good mouse straight out of the box. Didn't take long to get used to.
Anyone know what dpi all the pro's that use them are on?(i think it's on the lower end). Or whether they use weights?
|
Not sure but most likely no weights and ~800dpi

Is there anything wrong with your current DA? imo the two best mice for palm ATM are da and zowie ec1/ec2 evo (depending on hand size). Then there's also the ninox aurora but that's probably a late 2013 release. I have both a da2013 and zowie ec1 evo:
DA 2013: + good sensor, no AS/prediction/accel issues + omron switches (preference) + can use thicker mouse feet + good mousepad compatibility
- build quality - synapse/no known native dpi steps so interpolation.. - higher lod (pref/fixable with tape trick) - very minor smoothing
Zowie EC1 Evo: + good sensor, no AS/prediction/accel issues + No drivers, plug and play hz selection 450/1150/2300 CPI + build quality (cept mousewheel) + low lod (preference)
- mousewheel is pretty stiff initially, older revisions had mould issues - using mousefeet thicker than 0.6mm causes the sensor to not track correctly - some multicoloured pads have issues tracking, tracks best on solid colour pads with red for a higher lod. - huano switches (preference)
Overall I prefer the zowie but will probably mod it with omrons, the odd dpi steps will probably also not suit some. I also swapped for pure Teflon skates instead of the Teflon blend they come fitted with. Main games played: sc2/qw/ql

the scroll wheel is broken, i've had it for a couple of years now, and i want a new mouse haha, yeah i guess i'll look into the razer deathadder 2013, although i'm not so sure on razer's build quality
what do you think of the logitech g series mice?

They are solid, the g400 is another good choice for palm however for me the shape was horrible - I couldn't get used to it coming from ime3/da type shell which is why I forgot the honorary mention! Past the build quality/tracking quality/drivers much of the rest is personal preference.

Anyway, what you need to know is that korean are WAYYYYYYYYYYYY less nitpicky when it comes to get used to the sensitivity or the mouse compared to the europeans or americans.
800 is kinda slow except if you're using the sc2's sensitivity or the windows one. Which kind of defeat the purpose of the dpi itself.

I guess I'll bite as I'm extremely agitated at my mouse hunt
1. What's your grip style? Hybrid? I use my palm, but my hand doesn't lay flat on my mouse
2. What's your sensitivity? 400 DPI (do a full 360 in FPS games with one side of my mousepad to another)
3. What's your maximum budget? $100
4. Do you want additional buttons? Mouse 4 and Mouse5 are pretty much required
5. What games do you play? CS:GO, DoTA2
6. Do you mind angle snapping? Yes
7. Other relevant information: Only ever used 3 mice, the intellimouse 3.0, MX510, MX518
I've been searching for new mice for about two weeks now (finally upgrading my peripherals) and have it down to the DA 2013, the EVO EC1, and the Sensei.
I've personally tried the Sensei and the DA and honestly I just wish I could combine them.. The Sensei feels a little too small in my hands. My hands are ~21.5cm (8.5 inches) so to me, if my hand placement is on the Sensei how it would be on a larger mouse, my fingers are actually coming off the front of the buttons and hitting the mousepad.
The DA 2013 feels like about the right size, but the grips on the side make my hands sweat (I've never had sweaty hands playing on the computer.)
And I've heard horror stories about the side buttons on the EC1 and how bad the scroll wheel is (not having a good one is really bad)
Honestly I wish I could combine them all into one mouse, but I can't seem to figure it out.
Is there anyone who has used all 3 mice I'm looking at and can make any sort of comment on the EC1 (it's the only mouse I can't try before buying) or that went from a 518 to a Sensei and felt like it was small at first and got used to it? Or finally decided on one and can tell me how they adjusted? The Sensei "feels" like the better of the two, but I'm just not sure with the size of my hands and using a 518 for the better part of a decade that I'll adjust to something so small. I feel like the EC1 is the perfect medium but the cons of not having a good scroll wheel or mouse buttons terrifies me as I use those constantly.
I notice most FPS pros using the Kinzu, or the Sensei, or even the ms1.1, which are all about the same size. I don't know if that's because of sponsors, or preference, or what, but the Sensei just feels too low to me, but maybe it's just because I'm so used to the 518 feel as I used it from release until it finally died a year ago.

just gimme a mico/g9x with a decent bugfree sensor

What do you mean which I shouldn't use anyway? First off, I find 800 dpi too low, I need around 1000-1200 dpi, like the other zowie mice offer (1150 dpi). I could scale it down using software sensitivity if the 1600 dpi mode wasn't extrapolated already.
Secondly, the PIXART 3305 sensor in the mico has a known and confirmed (by zowie) bug resulting in jumping every now and then (for me it happens like once in every two or three games of sc2).
Quote from the overclock.net forums:
"Hello [my name],
I have now checked with my technical department, and you are correct, it is a known issue of the PIXART 3305 sensor. We have tried solving it ourself, and we have also been in contact with PIXART, but there is no current solution to the problem.
To answer your question: No, you won't be able to get a MiCO without this problem, as the problem is in the chip of the sensor, and therefore a problem for all mice using the same sensor. We have not been able to solve it, but we have asked our pro gamers using the mouse if it is a big problem, and the answer is no. They do not feel it is a problem for playing.
If it is a problem for you, you should find a different mouse to play with than the MiCO.
Best regards, [ZOWIE Chief Marketing Officer]"
So yes, just imagine the Avago ADNS-3090 sensor inside the mico, superior in every way, though I still prefer the mico over any other mouse.

The only mouse I havn't used of all those is the sensei but that does have some sensor issues namely pos. accel if that would bother you. A few posts above I outlined my experiences with da13/ec1 evo.
In terms of shape, both are similar to the ie3 so if you liked that then these are good options. The side buttons on the ec1 I have no issues with although they are stiffer than say the ie3. The mousewheel is stiffer than comparable mice to begin with but is much much better one broken in, it does wobble very slightly but registers fine. Another main difference is the huano switches which are more tactile than the lighter mushy feel da omrons for instance.
If you liked the 518 shell the g400s is probably worth considering as it is basically a updated 510/518 iirc.

Anyone know what mouse Kaldor was using during the Asus ROG tournament?
It was a white mouse with a grey scroll wheel and has finger placements for the ring and little finger.
The main reason I am looking for this mouse is that the shape seems comfortable and may have more control using that than my current mouse mx518.

Cool, i think that is it. Thanks. Not sure if there is anyway to test out this mouse in Canada... Would there be a Canada/US equivalent?
If anyone was looking for this 5 finger style grips, I found the Naos 5000 mouse which I'll try out.

I currently have a Logitech g9x it may be a bit too small for my hands (use it without the cases!). So I am looking for a new mouse.
1. What's your grip style? Claw 2. What's your sensitivity? Currently 800DPI. But not set in stone 3. What's your maximum budget? 75€ 4. Do you want additional buttons? 2 extra buttons 5. What games do you play? SC2, WoW (yeah and i like it!) 6. Do you mind angle snapping? yes
A friend of mine recommended the zowie fk pro. but i am not sure because it only has 450 / 1150 / 2300 dpi

You could just use the 1150 dpi and then figure what software sensitivity (e.g. windows/sc2 sensitivity slider) you need to get a 800 dpi-ish sensitivity. Nothing wrong with setting sensitivity lower.
