Well I WAS using a iOne Scorpius M10 for 3 hours today (got delivered) until the left shift key was defective and got stuck when I pressed it down....After reading all these stories on how bad the quality is on that keyboard I was hesitant to order it but said fuck it, I'll take that chance and hope I get lucky...BUT NOPE just 3 hours in and it crapped on me.

I wouldn't recommend this keyboard to anyone looking for a mechanical one for a low price ($50-$60). Spend the extra money and get yourself a FILCO or any other brand of higher quality which is what I plan on doing once I get refunded.

Now to decide..do I want to stick with the blues or go with the browns...leaning towards the blues again since I liked the clickyness :3

also why are people so obsessed with anti ghosting tbh when will you ever need to press more than 3 buttons?

Windows Digital Media Keyboard 3000, got one for 15€ or so. Have to say I like it although it has alot of useless keys and a bit different feel and placement than the standard keyboards. Love the small F keys that are pretty close and handy. I also use a 1€ wrist rest ( just above my wrist to be exact)with it so my hand is properly above the keys and the wrist is in a natural pose.

E. actually mine is different from the pic with a smaller left shift, but I´ve always preferred a small shift.

Just received Steelseries 6g v2. Far better than any non-mechanical keyboard I had tried. The feeling is really awesome. Sginificaltly cheaper than 7g.

don't buy the razer stuff, it's cheap crap with lights stuck to it.

i've got a G15 (the first version, the blue one, basically G11 with a screen) and it's wonderful, however i've had it since the release (which is what? like 5-6 years back?) and it's kinda starting to give up on me i lose control with the buttons starting to get a bit wobbly and not stay where they should and sometimes locking up, time to buy a new keyboard. as it looks now it'll probably be a G11 since i want those high keys, proper quality and back lighting since i usually play pretty dark.

I know this is from forever ago, but how are you gonna call out Razer for making cheap crap with lights on it, and then give your endorsement to this:

Now, I use this same cheap crap with lights on it (a G11), but I'm under no illusion. Logitech and Razer keyboards are just cheap membrane back-lit crap.

Well alot of people also plays FPS games, fighting games, or just like to play emulators. And some people are coders or scribes who use 100+WPM.

I used to use the stock Dell keyboard but I recently purchased a new PC and switched to this keyboard that came with the set:

I like that it's a bit lower profile, and I've never had an problems with ghosting or anything on it. I also like that the keys seems to click "smoother" (when I push down it's not like a pop then back up, when I push keys for unit production it feels a lot more smooth and I make fewer mistakes with number of units to produce).

M$ sidewinder x4, its really nize, not expensive, with some additional buttons for chat/pause macros =)

One of the few keyboards with red backlights (I hate blue^^) and good anti ghosting, not that it matters right now, but I remember those days of playing a micro machine like hotseat game years ago with friends or kiting a boss in WoW..isn't fun if your keyboard can't track more than 3 buttons..

Took a while to get used to the key layout (compared to my old keyboard the size is somewhat off. I can't explain it, but I missed some keys for a week..until my hit rating got up again xD) Only downside is that the driver doesn't remember the backlight setting and defaults to on, but not a big deal.

But I would really like to try out a mechanical keyboard once. People treat them like the §$%$ing holy grail. I just can't imagine how they can be that much better or how it must feel..I guess people who own mechanical keys know the taste of unicorn bacon too, 'cause it must be magic.. xD

I have the X6, with the detachable numpad (I actually put it on the left of the keyboard so my hands are in a more natural position when gaming because the mouse/left keyboard side, also its nice for typing betting amounts in poker ).
I had to get used to the slightly different key-layout (the keys are a bit closer spaced), but now I love it. Keyboard has enough profile so you can locate your hand(s) relative to the keyboard, but not so much as mechanical or 'old-school'/M-type keyboards. Also, the force required to press keys is just to my liking (relatively light). Tried G15/G11 and traditional keyboards, even had an expensive mechanical one which I broke, and out of all of them I like this one the best. Knobs for volume and lighting are also awesome. Windows key can be easily disabled. If it broke I would instantly rebuy it.
It has no flips on the back to put the keyboard at an angle, this could be a problem for some, but for me it's not since tilted keyboards make my wrists hurt like hell. Supposedly angled keyboards are bad for your wrists anyways so no surprises there.

It's around $80/60 euro iirc.

Edit: attached pic, numpad is detached on this pic. It's not good for anything with SC2 anyways

I use various ergo keyboards and fun keyboard i generally put a heavy t shirt over the keyboard and roll one end to use as a wrist rest. Which gives me a wrist rest, muffles the sound of the keys, keep the keyboard clean because only the t shirt gets dirty and also makes the feel of the keys a soft cotton lol :D only issue doing this is that you need to be a touch typist to do this.

I appologise up front if this is to much offtopic for this thread but I figured it was better than starting my own thread here.

I'm looking for a new keyboard, I want Cherry MX Brown switches but here comes the issue, I need one with a danish keyboard layout, I havnt been able to find any on the internet so I'm hoping for some help.
My optimal keyboard would be: Background lid, Danish layout, Cherry MX Brown and no macro keys.

Now I realise that all of those things can be hard to find but if someone out there know of a keyboard with all of them that would be absolutly fantastic else filling out as many of the things as possible with suggestions would be very much appriciated

You'd probably be better off asking that question somewhere like www.geekhack.org. Most of their members are keyboard aficionados and would most likely have a better idea than the average poster here.

I used a Microsoft Wired 600 keyboard for a while. I actually really liked the feel, but the 'E' key died when I was playing SF4 (probably because of my 12e spam in sc2 ><).

Now I use an ABS M1 with Black ALPS. It's pretty good, but the actuation force is really high (around 70g) so I kinda want a Cherry MX Brown keyboard atm.

I'm also a user of the new version of the Apple wireless keyboard since I'm a Mac user. I actually really love it and it's really comfortable for me to type on and has raised my speed from my MacBook Pro keyboard that I also love(d) (I use my laptop with an external monitor and keyboard while at home). Switching control with command via the SC2 menu sped me up a ridiculous amount because of how much more intuitively I use shortcuts with a Mac.

I'd love to experiment with mechanical keyboards some day, but it's not as feasible when you have to make sure to get a Mac layout with a command key and such. I know some of the more expensive ones let you do that (or at least let you pop it out yourself with a provided replacement key), but, as a college student, I only have so much money (yeah yeah, I know, this keyboard was $75, but a Filco or something is half again as much).

See this? I'm a liar.

I've become so enamored with the idea of a mechanical keyboard that I'm almost positive I'm going to get a Filco Tenkeyless with Cherry Browns (oddly enough, I hadn't thought of selling my current keyboard until today -- such good condition [right around 50 days used, might as well be brand spanking new and I even have the box] will ensure I barely lose any money, I imagine).

Even just switching from this keyboard to my laptop one in class is starting to feel like a major downgrade, which makes me think that I'll be able to appreciate having a mechanical.

Does anyone know of a Filco "Command" key? I'm perfectly fine just keeping everything as is and remapping them, but it would be pretty sweet to actually have the real key for it. I seem to remember seeing one in the beginning of my research on mechanical keyboards, but I haven't come across a Filco one, specifically, since.

Going to have to give a different account. I bought the exact same keyboard and have been using it for about 2 or 3 weeks. No problems so far and it feels really nice. If you are looking for a moderately cheap keyboard, I'd go with this one. Blue switch keys are loud and I absolutely love that.

I currently use a G15v2 - it's served me well but reading all these posts about mechanical keyboards are making me really itch to buy one of those. It's been so long since I've had one. Last time I used one was when I was still on Windows 3.1...
