also ati drivers sux
crossfire doesn't scale very well in a lot of cases

SLI vs Crossfire is probably the most inane argument ever

Thanks, just one more pass of my system + Show Spoiler +There are currently no combo deals and I bumped up the quality of my gfx card and processor a touch. If this works I think I will get it soon. Ok, so some people have said that this computer will need a better PSU than the 430W one in the Antec 300. Is this true? if so what should I get it at? Any suggestions? An extra question (or two) that could be conveniently answered while that first one is being answered. Will this PSU ( http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341018 ) be compatible and stable enough to run my system if the 430W one is not sufficient? Will my CPU/computer in general need any extra (as in bought separately) heat sinks/fans (If I don't get the Antec 300 with the 430W I am thinking of getting this case instead: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066 )?
Thanks again, Just want to make sure I don't mess it up.

Antec Basiq 500W is worse and less reliable than the Basiq 430W actually. The former is FSP, while the latter is Delta. (edit: apparently the 500W may be decent actually in terms of electrical specs, but the fan is really loud according to many.) The Neo Eco 520C--which is a Seasonic S12IIB design apparently--should be the best of those above.
Shipping is kind of wack. Actually if you just got the CM 690 II and the Basiq 430W, that would be cheaper than the Antec 300 + Basiq 430W if you include shipping? If so, get the CM 690 II definitely.
But actually, you might as well check prices on ncix.com and build on there if you're not going to use newegg.ca combos.
|
Yeah Newegg.ca is weird. Shipping screws a lot of deals over.
|
I don't know why people buy from newegg.ca when ncix, memoryexpress, canadacomputers, etcetc all have better prices, pricematching, and shipping =\
|
The thing that continues to make me look for parts on newegg compared to the other sites is the user interface. It's so much easier on newegg.
Another thing is I don't know how Canada's shipping works so it might be completely different for someone else especially when I'm doing it stateside. Someone Canadian should help build for them. Would it help/I think it would help if Canadians supplied their postal code when posting or am I off somewhere?

+ Show Spoiler [On September 04 2010 14:44 R04R wrote:] + Thanks for telling me that 430w is enough, I was going to get one that would cost me much more money
At my postal code that case has $9.99 shipping . Is it a good case? There is just one thing about the case that confuses me, In the information it makes itself clear that it has space for 10 fans and water cooling, and one of the reviewers said "the fans were quiet", but I see no evidence that there are any fans that come with it, should I buy fans for the case or will I not need them?

With the shipping, I never really thought about it until now, but I agree, it messes things up. The CM 690 II + Basiq 430W for me would raise the price of my computer by $5 in total. is the CM 690 II better than the Antec 300?
EDIT: GASP! I lied! It only increases it by $5! not $15 fixed now.

The shipping differences are really quite impressive when I am dealing with something like ME.

I agree, the user interface is so much better on newegg.ca than the others, but now that I know what I am looking for I can look elsewhere. If you want to help me find the shipping costs you can PM me for my postal code, but I would rather not just post it on the forums.
So yeah, going to go check out NCIX and ME now (maybe even others O.o)
Again, thanks for your help.

Yeah chances are, if you are in canada, ncix is better than newegg.ca.

Thanks again

NCIX was also the best for ontario, until they opened up a store in markham. Paying 6% tax vs 13% was ^^, but now its ㅡㅡ'
|
Retailers are required to charge you HST if you live in a HST province. They opened a store / warehouse in Ontario to give us more incentive to buy.
|
Bought my computer components locally to save on shipping and am happy with its performance so far :D Haven't installed SCII yet, but once it downloads I will see how it runs.

Well now they do. Buying a rig for 1k and paying 60$ tax only was a blessing, it made NCIX stand out over every computer store in ontario by far.
