So yeah, no VT-d / TXT / vPro (as before), no TSX, no GT3e or even GT3 graphics on the K suffix versions. Any news on the amount of wiggling around possible with clock speeds without K? If you can get say 110 MHz BCLK on some boards with non-K, that's up to a 4.40-4.62 GHz overclock possible on a plain i5-4670 if it's +4 multiplier bins allowed.

I think toms and Anandtech stated that you still can't change BCLK on the non K processors, so meh. Haha. ULV Haswell is launching on the first day of Computex, isn't it?

![]() What is your budget? No real budget but aiming for 800$ or so. What is your resolution? 1600x900, Subject to change though as I want to eventually buy a newer monitor What are you using it for? Moderate Gaming (guild wars 2, Starcraft 2 mainly), photoshop mostly, with eventually a lot of photoshop What is your upgrade cycle? probably 3-4 years When do you plan on building it? As soon as possible? I'll be buying parts in waves as i'll never be able to afford them all at once. Do you plan on overclocking? If need be Do you need an Operating System? yes. Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? If needed or recommended. Where are you buying your parts from? Newegg.ca or Tigerdirect.ca

Pricing constantly change so to purchase your parts over time, you sort of need knowledge of parts. What is a good purchase now may not be a good purchase tomorrow.

Both of these retailers don't offer pricematching and Newegg is going to be expensive if you are purchasing in batches since its American. Only areas I know of that I can purchase things, I live in London ontario so Idk any good retailers aside from overly priced bestbuy and futureshop. Price is not really an issue for anything and It's only going to be over the span of this month, so half in 1 week other half in 3 weeks or so. I'm sitting on a not so great computer now, so an upgrade is needed even if its not 100% all top of the line or whatever. Just something to get me through for a couple of years as this one probably won't last much longer.

NCIX has sales every week that start / end on Wednesday so if you're not buying until next week then ask again next week. Nothing great on sale right now anyways.

http://camelegg.com/product/N82E16819116501?locale=US http://camelegg.com/product/N82E16819116504?locale=US MSI G41 looks much less anemic this time, and that's $110. I wonder about voltage and other settings on these cheap boards, as it's not like they've got to spend extra on a better controller or implement certain things to expose features the FIVR is capable of... right? Or things still locked down for product segmentation?

How important is the special audio codec in it? I'd like good sound quality, and I think it would definitely be worth it if I can avoid a sound card. Other options would be Z87-MX-D3H at 125$ or the Extreme4 at 145$. Would this be good enough to possibly get what I was hoping for, or no? And it seems like the Creative core Sound3D Core or whatever it's called is used on their actual sound cards as well...
