Also, should I upgrade my motherboard if I'm going to the 1055T? Motherboard: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0342511 ^This motherboard is 9.99 with the either the AMD 1055t or AMD 965BE, so I save $82. I can get any of these motherboards for $40 off the listed price when combined with 1055t or 965BE: http://www.microcenter.com/search/search_results.phtml?N=4294966996 4294963446 4294957508&sht=Any&prt=NewProduct& TLDR: 1055t over 965BE for $20 more? Better motherboard (no crossfire planned)? I'd go with the 1055T. It's better enough to justify the $20. I have an M4A88TD EVO (which you can get new from Newegg for $10 less) with a 1090T, and it's quite a nice combo. In fact, Newegg has a combo of 1055T+M4A88TD EVO for $295 (click). Also, your $9.99 mobo is out of stock.

You'll need to OC a lot (4 cores vs 1090T's 6) to get better performance, which means powerful cooling. You'll need a bigger case for the retarded number of fans and heatsinks or liquid cooling system you'll need to match performance. Thus, much more expensive.

Anyway, it's your choice. I've had bad experiences with Intel over the years so I'm biased towards AMD anyways. That having been said, Phenom II X6 > i7.

(with no waiting for shipping) i7 930 for $200 http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0331303 holy shit thx r04r, now i'm tempted to go intel... and shell out extra money for the mobo. ><

The Phenom II X4 955/965 sells for less and provides about the same performance in just about every title. The Phenom II X6 is a great CPU for multithreaded work, but again if you aren't going to fully use the 6 cores, you end up getting a weaker CPU.

I read some reviews and in the majority of them it was said that Phenom is great but rarely any software uses 6 cores so its 2 more cores are pretty much useless. They all recommend i7 series

Sparkle on the other hand I have never heard much about. They do offer a lifetime warranty on the reference 1GB though, so I would go with them.

I wanna get a new comp that runs SC2 really smoothly and can play some games that the future might hold. My budget is around 800€ so its not very high. I thought about building it myself from parts but I really don't have the patience. I found a comp with these specs online though and I wonder if it's worth the 800€ or if anyone has any critisizm. # Silver Power SP-SS500 500W PSU # ASUS P7H55-M PRO, H55, Socket-1156 # Intel Core™ i3 Dual Processor i3-540 # Gainward GeForce GTS250 1GB PhysX CUDA # Lite-On DVD+RW burner IHAS124-19 # USB2 3.5" # Corsair Value S. DDR3 1333MHz 2GB CL9 # Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA2 # Microsoft® OEM Wired Desktop 400 MP # Creative SBS A40 # Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

If you built it yourself, you could have 2gb more ram, 1tb hard drive, and a better graphics card (5770 or so) I had a look at their site and I can easily get the 5770 for just a little bit more. What worries me is the RAM 2 gb sound a bit low. Do i need DDR3?

So if you're planning to overclock, I'd just wait for a EVGA/Gigabyte/MSI one to be available. Also, keep in mind that most of the benchmarks you can find on online reviews are for Palit Platinum version--which Newegg doesn't have yet (I think). hm? the Sparkle card uses the reference design

Answers to questions in OP: My budget is 800 dollars. I'm not sure about this question. I'm not good with technology :/ I'm probably going to use it for the internet and gaming only. I won't upgrade. This computer should be only temporary for me. I plan to build it ASAP of course ![]() I will most likely not overclock it. I don't need an OS. I'm not sure what a GPU is, so I cant' answer this question. I can buy it from anywhere as long as it follows my budget. Any advice would be appreciated ![]()

I can buy it from anywhere as long as it follows my budget. Any advice would be appreciated ![]() Here's what I got: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AhPPlAuzvAQZdGItMmFWQV90UW9FVVFWWUhlbHdqZFE&hl=en&authkey=COzKp78D The total actually came to be ~800 dollars, but that's after Mail-in rebates and bing cashback, assuming it goes through. Everything except for rows 2, and 5-7 are from newegg. 5-6 are from a microcenter, and I highly encourage you take advantage of their amd cpu+mobo offer if you have one near you. I also highly recommend you taking advantage of the SC2+thermaltake case bundle offer on newegg. 7 is for a set of headphones, which I needed. 2 was just because there was a hdmi cable for 0.99 shipped.... I included the promo codes I used, I think 1-2 expired today, but rest should be good till july 31. Same with the mail-in rebates. Also there's no more bing cash back on newegg, so that's about +$100, but you could always downgrade the graphics card and save 100 dollars. IMO this is an excellent system that I got for the price I did. Following the spreadsheet, you'll get the comp + 1 hdmi cable, 1 copy of sc2, 1 copy of sc2 trial key, and 1 pair of Ultimate Ear 700 earbuds lol. BTW like every single newegg customer support rep I talked to had an American first name and Asian last name. Outsourcing! EDIT- damn, I had hyperlinks so you could click the item and it'd take you to product page, but those got lost when I uploaded it to google. Lemme know if you want the original spreadsheet :D EDIT2- Also big thanks to everyone who helped me pick parts, I actually upgraded several of the parts that you suggested, r04r, because bing cashback and promos and mail in rebates saved me a lot more than I expected.
