It can't be too soon. The battle report will be obsolete when the beta releases since so many people will be making their own. I think it's more likely that they'll drop the battle report on the anniversary, along with other assorted goodies and junk, along with a date for when the beta will be. imo.

All the article is saying is that they will probably/hopefully announce the beta aka say a date for when the beta will be.

To be quite honest I am only excited for the beta because there will be videos and all that of how it is and all that fun junk to fill my nerd bar. But I would like it to be released so we can mould it into a great game

Previous blizzard RTS betas have started about 2 weeks after signups began. WoW was a much longer wait.

You know how the beta login thing still shows warcraft crap? what if they send out fake emails saying; "thanks for signing up for WoW expansion, please wait forever for it to be released!"
