ESL have announced the group draws for the ESL Masters Summer regionals.
The EPT regionals have undergone significant change from 2022, with the six previous regions being consolidated into three: Europe, Americas, and Asia. The group stage format has changed from 8-player round-robin to a 16-player swiss format. Additionally, the playoffs have changed from double-elimination to single-elimination.
The regionals portion of ESL Masters Summer will run from May 2nd to May 21st. The top placing players from the regionals will earn paid flights and higher seeds at ESL Summer's offline main event at DreamHack (June 16-18).

16 Player Swiss format? Wow :D
|
Really easy group draws for Americas and Asia

Curious how the seeding was done in EU, Group B looks way harder than Group A. Doesn't seem to be last year's EPT points, as otherwise HM/Reynor/Serral/Clem would be split two and two.

Katowice results then EPT points with snake draft. Just unfortunate seeding between Clem doing poorly and Maxpax/Skillous not attending. Lambo's been so unlucky recently lol

Europes group B looks really tasty. Serral should take easy win in group A.

I really like the new format, to be honest. It's just a shame that it came at the same time as lower prizes.

Really curious how the first rounds will look. That is probably the much bigger question instead of just the group draw

European groups quite "tossed"...

NA group honestly looks more high level than EU group A.

Somebody forgot to tell MaxPax that the finals are offline

Will be interesting to see if Serral goes undefeated(series wise) trough that group. I think there is some players there that definitely can take maps of him, but win a whole series? Who knows...

He can still win USD 12,000 online and then ditch the main event in Jönköping, right?

Since there's no LR thread, I guess this is the LR thread?
Also someone add the YouTube stream to the sidebar.

Is there a schedule available somewhere? I assume not as it is not on Liquipedia either and not on official ESL tournament pages. I would be very interested to know which days during the May 2-21 are match days and when the matches start each day, and also when does the group play end and playoffs start... I am keeping the Finnish audience up to date with SC2 news but the lack of details now makes it harder than before.
Nevertheless, I like the new format which eliminated some unbalanced matchups and leaves room for more games in the main stream.
EDIT: Now on May 15, we have info that playoffs start on May 17, 15:00 GMT (+00:00).
