2022-23 ESL Pro Tour - Open Cups: Week #171 (April 16-17)

Week #171 saw Dark extend his winning streak on the Korean server to six cups in a row, tying a record set by HeroMarine and Clem (achieved on Europe). On top of that, Dark also achieved a double on the week by winning the American server cup, marking this as one of the most impressive runs ever in the ESL Open Cups.

Meanwhile, the European server cup went to HeroMarine, who took down top regional rivals Clem and MaxPax on his way to his 58th cup victory.

Feels like Dark is in much better shape atm than he was during Katowice

Kinda sad for him, must have just been an off week or something else bothering him cause he's been crazy solid lately online. 6 KR Wins in a row + a US one, crazy

For sure. It's really weird to me since I can't even exactly tell what he's changed in a concrete sense. His early game just seems to be tighter, his ZvP seems to have some direction again, and his ZvZ seems to be the right mix of aggression and slight eco cheese. It's like he just found some confidence that he hasn't had for a long time. I wonder if maybe that military notice actually weighed on him more than he let on, and the lack of followup is giving him some new motivation?

It's okay, as a rapid Dark fan I'll gladly accept a Gamers 8 win from him =D
