Disappointed that Reynor declined, I hope it's not health related. Fingers crossed that America approved Time's visa.

Reynor probably doesn't need the points to make it to Katowice. He's giving up seeding benefits but that extra seeding might not be worth it to him to travel to the states and play another tournament.

Cool to see Cure participating, I thought he was too old to travel? Also hoping Time makes it, with a decent bracket I think he could make a deep run.

It would impact the seeding in IEM, and you would prefer to be a top 4 seed for better draw in the group stage. Reynor, and Dark, missing DH Atlanta will let Serral and herO take over top 4 seed along with Clem and Maru.

Bummer, but Reynor would only decline with a good reason so best wishes for him.
Stacked tournament, this will be great!

I wonder if Reynor declined because he wants to focus on more practice cuz of his recent results. Man already qualified for Katowice so he wants to take some personal time off. Wishing you the best Reynor! Excited for the Tournament

reynor is not vaccinated for covid so he cannot go to the us

If he is burned out or for other health reasons, it's obviously understandable. Other than those I can't imagine volunaritly giving up a big tournament like this. I mean these guys are living for the chance to prove themselves at tournaments and it's also basically their job

Let the dude take a break, he doesn't owe us an explanation.

Keep in mind that Reynor already this year made the trip to Korea (which I'm sure wasn't a simple ordeal) just to play in GSL and he ended that adventure with a very disappointing result.
If he doesn't want to make another cross continent trip to play in another tournament when he's already pretty much locked into going to Katowice then it makes sense to me why he'd want to sit this one out.
As others accurately put it, he's not just a gamer, he has a life and he's been burning very bright this year.

This is nothing against any player, but the lack of caster at the site and some big name players missing really hurt the hype of the overall event. Sure it would still be fun and crowded (?) but its one of the rare occasions for the die-hard SC2 fan in the US to finally have an offline event and their experience wont be as amazing.

Did they accidentally link TL Hero when it should be DPG's herO in the tweet?
I was very confused at first.

Do you have a source for this?

FYI in his interview at the Pig Sty Festival this morning, Reynor said that he really wanted to go to Atlanta, but was forced to back out due to personal reasons related to his family. He will be back for Homestory Cup though.
Prayers for whatever that might be! As people said above, progamers have lives, families, crises, etc, like everyone else.
