Not sure about Reynor. Did he enter Korean soil already?

Reynor is not in Korea right now. He said yesterday on Rotti's stream that he'll be there after HSC, but he has to book a flight yet.

Champ easily
Only challenge will be against Dark since he does a lot of ruthless stuff
Or the boring cancer turtle Maru style

To be honest though, I'd prefer GSL just be for Korean players as long as their participation in other tournaments is restricted, especially given the decreased number of slots this year.

In general I agree, but I really don't know how much longer the scene is going to continue in it's current form, so would be pretty hyped to see the big foreign hitters like Reynor giving the GSL a crack.

It starts today afaik, Reynor tweeted about it but is not listed on notable participants (https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Global_StarCraft_II_League/2022/Season_3/Qualifier) not sure how updated liquipedia is atm? edit: it got fixed pretty quickly A lot of foreigners are participating: Astrea, Nice, SpeCial, ziGGy, Rex, Reynor and Scarlett! As well as an unknown French player Dext. Gotta be exciting to follow without stream by f5'ing brackets as usual or following tweets

No Trap or Rogue......look like the rumor about Rogue retirement was true.

Where'd you see the list of players?

Aah, thanks. That link wasn't working. Trap and Rogue not participating is huge news indeed. We just lost two amazing players to military again...

Fixed the link sorry, the parenthesis and comma got put into the url. Classic taking out Scarlett is impressive, his form seems far better than just one month ago?

Byun speedruns the qualifiers

Look like Rogue is not participating? Normally, he will join the first day of qualifier.

Chance, Classic, Nightmare, Prince, Nice, Cure, Dream, Gumiho, Special, Keen, Scarlett, and Armani all competing for the last six spots tomorrow.
|
I am very excited for this upcoming season of GSL with so many non-Koreans attempting to qualify.

Chance, Nightmare and Prince don t realy have a shot, but between the other 9 it s going to be realy tough Not sure who is most likely to make it, maybe Gumiho and Classic?

No Trap, no Rogue today either. That is so sad. So I gues there is approximitly a 0% chance either of them is going to Katowice 2023

hopefully gumiho makes it out. he is showing a lot of skill lately

Day 2, group A should be Dream, Special and GuMiGod, group B Classic, Cure and Scarlett

2/3 so far in both groups. Hope Scarlett and Special can pull through as well. Would be an amazing GSL with a lot of international competition

Does anyone know how seriously aLive is playing? He's obviously not back in shape losing 0-2 to Rex, but I'm wondering if he's grinding hard or just playing qualifiers now and again. ig he's on the freecs...

Scarlett lost to Prince ...

I think he regularly streams on Afreeca so he's quite serious. Must still be adjusting to changes

Poor aLive doesn't get much love. Seeing his results, i wonder if he'll stick around for 2023 or retire
Meanwhile, my boy Prince will play in the qualifier match. I'm hoping so bad he makes it through

very sad, i have seen her lose a handful of series to him before, he can be quite impressive tactically
hopefully we still see a lot from her the rest of the year

Imagine flying all the way to Korea to participate in GSL and don t even Qualify That sux so much for Special and Scarlett. I hope they still make the most out of their stay there and practise in the teamhouse Environment. E.: congrats to Prince for taking the last spot over Nice

I am very proud that Gumiho is getting better and better. Just that his TvP is lacking compared to his TvZ and TvT.
|
Based on herO, Gumiho, DRG and Dream performances so far, possibly Rogue and Trap can retain their skills if they want to continue in this career after military service.

Is anyone know what happens to Stats, TY and Innovation? Are they still in military service?

Yes, presumably. I think Korean military service lasts for two years and they all began in May-July 2021 so they still have varying degrees of less than a year left.
Shame for Special/Scarlett/Nice - but the nice thing is that they will have plenty of other opportunities to compete in tournaments. If Prince/Armani don't make GSL then . . . not many opportunities for them tbh.

But yeah, much as it’s cool to see the foreign legion in action, it’s less of an all or nothing proposition for them than some of the Code S fringe talent

TY finishes early 23 same as Inno but Inno said he didn't want to come back to SC2.
