The qualifiers for Code S Season 2 were held on June 4-5, deciding the 24 players who will join seeded players TY, Cure, INnoVation, and PartinG in the second Code S season of 2020.
A total of five Code S spots changed hands in the qualifiers. Among the Season 1 players, TRUE (military service), Bomber, Kiwian, Creator, and Hurricane were unable to earn qualification again. Replacing them are returning Code S players Patience and Super, alongside first time Code S players in Astrea, Zoun and Prince.

Update:
Aligulac now has the matchup statistics for PvsT, PvsT, and TvsZ in the GSL Season 2 qualifiers:
Race Totals for season 2. 11 Protoss, 8 Terran, 9 Zerg.
Not bad at all. Glad to see Zoun finally make it, he's been a hyped up and comer for a while. Also cool that we finally have 1 foreigner per race in the tournament now.

From what I've seen of him, Zoun's PvT is quite strong. His PvZ and PvP aren't so great though.

Not sure he can qualify as a hyped up and comer when it has taken him this long to make Code S.
At least he's already a Proleague champion though.

Terrans doing so poorly in the GSL qualifiers, fortunately the patch is coming to save them.

Technically, Terran has been doing poorly across all offline premier tournament qualifiers this year, with the exception of GSL Season 1, where about 1/3 qualified were Terran.
One of the cool things about the Code S qualifiers nowadays is looking at player lists and seeing which old names decided to stop by. Alicia is arguably the best player to never win an individual title, cool that he hung around for a couple days.
I really do feel bad for Creator... he seems to have such a mentality block when it comes to being on the brink of elimination... skill wise he should easily be able to qualify every time

Alicia, Circumstance, meet ByuL. (A player who happens to be known more for his skill than "that one picture with bad makeup)".
I do wonder about the timing of this second season. Why do they begin it so soon? Katowice is not until late February 2021, and after Code S season ends in late August, Afreeca only has a Code S and a Super Tournament left to fill out more than five months of schedule. Even with (hopefully) a Global Event at the end of the year, that is probably just a weekender. Seems it would be better to spread the tournaments out more.

Fewer terrans qualified because 3 of the 4 seeded players were terran.... we just had a TvT GSL finals.
The terran ability to balance whine may be their second strongest ability, besides being able to make mother-bleeping space marines,

Three seeded terrans for season 1? If I remember correctly it was only Maru.
Ten out of 28 were terran in the end though, so 35% in total.
For season 2 it's five plus the three you mentioned for a total of eight, which is 27%.

10 of 28 season 1 terran 8 of 28 season 2 terran 18/56 = 32.14% actual number 19/56 = 33.93% if 1 more had qualified
Quick, spam blizzard, terran so under-represented.
Seems like Korean Protoss have figured out a new meta against Korean Terran.
Look you Take Stats from a qualifier that Misses 3 of the top terrans while Missing None of the top zergs and tosses (still Not ranking parting as a top toss rn not convinced yet). Obviously terrans will perform worse. I don't get what you try to achieve with this post terran is not weak right now (also Not op imo but w/e).

It's not completely out of nowhere, he's played in online cups and Code S qualifiers for a few years. Recently, he made it to a Kung Fu cup final where he took a game off Inno. He's joined Team GP so we should be seeing him in the next season of GTC as well (assuming we get one).
Now, if this Mondo character had qualified, that would truly be ridiculous
Congrats to Astrea, some hard work and a long road has paid off with a GSL berth. After the upsets in Season 1 Ro24, I will not be surprised if almost anyone advances.

Yeah it is almost like Protoss is stronger than Terran but Terrans top 5 players are better than Protoss top 5 players.
This seems accurate. Also, no player of any race seems to be able to stomp any competition in any tournament these days. Is it a sympthom of a volatile game, lower skill difference or both?
Terrans are Just complaining because they want to, and then they come with the good ol 'top terrans are just better' argument Let me Turn this and say protoss mid tier players are just better than their terran opponents (also there are more of them), Case closed

Are you complaining about too many protoss players at GSL? You can always find statistics to support your viewpoint if you are willing to look for them. If I wanted to argue that protoss is doing badly I could say there has not been a protoss winner of a GSL event in the last 12 months, or that no protoss has won Code S since Stats in Season 1 of 2017.
Instead of looking for the bad things, I try to look for positive things. For example, I am disappointed Bomber didn't qualify but happy Taeja and DRG did. I am also keen to see what Prince can do. New blood in GSL.

Mate I wouldn't even try. That account has been posting those same cherrypicked stats in loads of threads trying to further their agenda. There's no point arguing.
