Yeah, it's odd. No word on how many players qualify either. Maybe they're just postponing the format changes until season 2 due to the delay.

Maybe potential format changes, if they are applied this season, don't have an effect until the qualifiers are done. Also let me remind you they announced the postponement of ST on the day it was meant to start and the start of it 3 days before it actually started. They're not exactly timely with everything
Of course there's also the chance they scrapped the changes at this time, maybe even due to player concerns. I don't really think schedule delay would play into this because they can always catch up to schedule by condensing group stages to be less spread out.

It's a positive sign for the state of Korean esports that offline qualifiers are happening, and so soon too.

The official EPT rule book puts 52 players per season into GSL (point distr. goes down until rank 41-52)

Location TBD!
Maybe online.....?

it seems that there are only 16 players in code S,so GSL downsizes? We all know the so-called code A is just the two-day Qualifiers.

you'd think with covid-19 and the nature of the offline qualifiers that they'd have this all done online.

Sooo....
Are these group stages or directly KO games? Players who don't qualify get point regardless (52 players)? The top 4 of ST go in to the Ro16?

So it really was like Solar said it, ro.24 for the main tournament. At least we got an answer finally lol

So offline without audience or online ? I'm confused.

It's basically the ASL format, main difference being of course that GSL won't have any best of 1 matches.Top 4 of the first Super Tournament will make up the 4 seeded players of the Ro16 for season 1.

So Code S 2020 will have the same amount of prize money as Code S 2019. Good news.
Think the new ASL style format is good. But then what was the deal with top 52?
