Bisu, isn't that better to give other people oportunity to face the best of the best?

This is my view, but it is okay if you or any one else shares a different one:

Those players not voted can create the opportunity to play the best of the best on their own. They do this by improving enough to advance far in tournaments like IEM and Dreamhack thus meeting the best of the best. My view is that we look at those results and vote reward those players that did advance far in tournaments. Has is a great example of this. He may not have been the ultimate best protoss the time of the vote, but at least he produced a reward able result in recent tournaments. Who more then Reynor in the votes deserves to be sent more based on his outstanding results and efforts in just the second year of his WCS career.

What is not okay with me, is the way in which the votes we gained by Elazer this year. However, even though I'm bitter about it now, I've said my piece and will move on to celebrating the players and enjoying the games once the polls are closed.

This is different; Trap deserves to be at GSL vs the World, you can’t make a case that Elazer has the same resume over a Reynor for example.

I dont get it
If Elazer has such a dedicated (polish) fanbase, then why did they wait till the last day, why not vote earlier?
NVM, read a few pages back, i guess the youtube guy did it

Elazer's explanation posted on Reddit:
Just to clarify the whole situation and my point of view on it. Pretty famous polish Youtuber with 1.7mil subscribers made a video to vote for me in GSL vs the World. He is my friend and also is on the same team as me AGO.

If you know me better than just from watching a few post-game interviews during WCS, you would know I am the last person to ask for help in this type of competition. I also believe that Reynor deserves the spot more than I do. Because of how the rules work for this vote, I assumed that 2 people from zerg vote will advance - which I wanted to be me and Reynor, as Reynor is rank 2 in WCS, I am rank 8 and Scarlett is rank 9.

Last 2 years I didn't get into GSL vs The World because I lost to Scarlett in popularity vote, even though I was higher in WCS standings both times. Not sure if you guys remember, but I didn't get into GSL vs World even after winning WCS Valencia and being rank 2wcs (literally the same position as Reynor is right now).

Long story short - Even though we are good friends, I believe I deserve to play in GSL vs the World at least once instead of Scarlett, not only because of this year, but considering all my results from past 3 years. I will feel terrible if Reynor doesn't get in, and probably consider giving up my spot, but I do think that the blame shouldn't be 100% on me here.

maybe its a strategy that makes opps have no time to counter.

that makes a lot of sense, actually.
At first sight it really looked like bot-voting, and Elazer is such a sttraightfoward decent guy, I couldnt understand what's going on.
I agree, he deserves the 8th, but it would be really awkward if Reynor somehow gets outvoted

I hope there's a better way to petition for votes in the future so players don't get caught up in this. The TLCMAT format works differently in that the rules state no petitioning for votes outside of Teamliquid. Maybe next year we can have the TL staff perform video or written interviews/profiles with all the players with the additional option that the players submit their own content to TL if they'd like. That way we make it easier for players to promote themselves. I totally understand the argument he states against Scarlett and maybe some of the fault is that we didn't give him enough of an opportunity to promote himself before the polls opened.
