at one point i posted something dumb about him on TL (don't remember what) and he replied with something like "i've seen you hating on me around here. what did i ever do to you other than provide free entertainment?" or smth like that. that made me realise how dumb i was being. and over the years he really grew on me. i loved his casting, Pylon Show and everything. he will be dearly missed. condolences to his friends and family. | ||

As time went on I got to "know" him, and he became one of my favorite people in the scene. Folks have shared some great videos of him in this thread, so I won't add to that...you should watch them, though, to remember just how funny he was. But I want to add a few more thoughts that haven't been emphasized enough. To me, what made Geoff special was a crazy combination of: Kindness -- yeah, he had a bit of a "jerk" side, but at his heart we were often reminded of how much he wanted this community to pull together, to be better to each other, and to lift each other up Strength -- obviously, as a powerlifter/gym guy, he was an intimidating/physical presence...but he was strong in the way he approached his work, too. A lot of trolls gave him shit for his (to them) weakness or failures, but he put a ton of energy into making his life and the scene be what he wished it could be. He regretted nothing, because he threw himself into it, holding nothing back. Personality -- this part has been emphasized a lot, so I don't need to say much. Geoff was lovable as all hell -- "funnier than a rubber crutch", my dad would say. I laughed so much from his casts, State of the Game, Pylon show, streams, etc etc. Will miss him a ton. Last thing I'll say. I'm 49. Geoff was ~33. Life is short. It's unfair. We have setbacks. But love the people you're with, and be the person you want to be. Hugs to you all. | ||
