From iNcontroL’s Twitter:
To offer some solace in this time of grief: We've learned that Geoff passed quickly and painlessly from a blood clot in his lungs. He was with friends. He always urged and led us by example to take care of ourselves to the best of our ability. Remember to do that for him today. |
I've been in shock for 20 minutes.
Nobody in the world has Geoff's combination of wit and humor.
I especially admired how honest he was, whether it was being the only one with the balls to joke about what everyone was thinking, or saying what needed to be said to be a good friend.
The world is more dull without him... mine at least. RIP Geoff.

Wow, I’ve interacted with him since the BW days and even before he made his account here. Haven’t spoken to him in several years due to not playing SC2, I’ve been following closely through streams though.
He was up there with Artosis and Tasteless as the best casters and providers for the community.
RIP

Oh my god. Terrible news. Heartfelt and deepest condolences to his loved ones.
Thank you, Geoff, for everything you've given to me and the world. You will be remembered!

The most entertaining guy in esports and a strong pillar of the community. Thank you for all the great times!

Oh my god what horrible news is this. Condolences to family and friends.

It feels so surreal. When I saw the tweet this morning I just kept waiting for the punchline to the joke to come, but there was none
It's been years since I last saw him, and I never knew him well, but he was a powerful force of personality and I'll really miss him.

I think that pretty well sums Geoff up. Read a Tweet like that and wait for the punch line.
So sad.

Unreal! RIP Geoff. Thank you for all you have given to the community. Thoughts go out to your friends and family.

I just noticed the news on my FB feed when I woke up today, I am incredibly saddened. I've known Geoff almost since I've been playing Brood War, more than 17 years now. Even though we never met in person and didn't really stay in touch through the years, the few times we talked we remembered our shared memories fondly.
On behalf of the "hungarian squad of TeaM 88)" I offer my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

WHAT THE FUCK??
it's not April 1st...
I came to TL because I couldn't believe what I read in my newsfeed. I can't actually process this, he was in his early 30s????
I just watched his "Who is artosis?" video just yesterday too because it's so damn funny. Such a tragic loss. My heart goes out to all of his family and friends, as this loss must be huge to them.

Out of the blue sky This is terrible. Geoff was an important part of more than one community and brought his unique combination of passion and sharp (though fair) humour everywhere he went.
I'll miss your shenanigans, man.

This hurts, my condolences to everyone close to him.

I have quit gaming for so long... but this news made me find my way back here, to TL, find my username.
I miss you Geoff. I hope you find peace wherever you are.
RIP.

This is horrible news...i can't fathom this. My deepest condolences to his family and those close to him. Geoff was such a funny and sympathetic man who has been around for so long and now he's not, truly sad.

Im lost for words. Geoff has been so big part of the StatCraft that part of it died with him.

Rest in peace. Way too young... A true loss.
I would suggest a change to the TL.net logo for some appropriate amount of time.
