From iNcontroL’s Twitter: To offer some solace in this time of grief: We've learned that Geoff passed quickly and painlessly from a blood clot in his lungs. He was with friends. He always urged and led us by example to take care of ourselves to the best of our ability. Remember to do that for him today.

Then, I checked TL.net's sidebar to see what's going on, and under StarCraft 2, the top thread's title reads, "Geoff 'iNcontroL' Robinson has passed away"... I'm really sad now. I'm speechless... I'm going to lose sleep tonight.

His documentation may say he had only been 33, but iNcontroL gave us all a century's worth of energy, humor, passion, and sheer force of absolute personality on every stream, every tournament, live or online, every game he played, every episode of every podcast he was on, and every public appearance he ever made in anything at all. He was always unapologetically himself in a world where so many people are crammed into a branding box, and unlike many people who are "unapologetically themselves", he didn't NEED to apologize for who he was. He was second only to Garfield himself in the creation of one of the most important organizations in esports history. He could complement and raise up any person he shared a stage with, including people who were easily capable of standing on their own - JP, Wheat, Artosis, Day9, the late TB. I don't think any person represented the transition of BW to 2 the way he did. He had perspective in every aspect of the industry, a wisdom beyond his listed years, and a real love for the things he chose to spend his time on - Starcraft, Warhammer, and his amazing wife and dog. Dan probably hasn't made it back from China to hear the news, but...well, that pylon is definitely his now.
