Q: It took 7 games for you and Serral to decide who the ultimate winner was. When it came to 3-3, how did you feel?
A: I felt really anxious and unconfident when it came to 3-3. In the end, the only thing I could think of was to play more aggressive to get out of the tough condition.
Q: Do you have any idea what the final song played at your winning means (a Chinese fanvid about Innovation)?
A: Of course, WESG has told me about this arrangement before the match.
Q: You took the most traditional strategy in the endgame, which you also chose for the first game. How did you arrive at such a decision?
A: I prepared the most for my strategy in the first game. Previously I had another strategy for the 7th game but on second thought I finally decided to stick with the strategy that I was most confident of.
Q: As an SC veteran player and now almost reaching the end of your career as a professional SC2 player, you have returned to your apex after multiple difficulties last year. How long do you think your career will last?
A: I won WESG this year and qualified as the seeded player next year so I certainly will continue to play.
Q: Do you have any specific plans in mind?
A: My most urgent wish is to qualify for Blizzcon this year. I have not thought of anything else further.
Q: What do you think of your opponent Serral today?
A: He is a very solid player. I have not won over him economy-wise but generally, I defeated him with my own strength.
Q: Have you studied Serral’s play before the match?
A: With limited time to prepare, I indeed have thought a lot about his play. Maru also gave me a lot of advice.
Q: Speaking of Maru, what do you think of his performance?
A: Maru is certainly a world class player, both in his micro and his macro . And he is still pretty young. Now he is one of the best SC2 players in the world.
Q: In the 4th game, when Serral saw your triple proxy rax, why did not you drop the strategy immediately?
A: To be honest, I always thought I was in a good shape in the 4th game so I thought the strategy still could work.
Q: In the 6th game, the map almost ran out of minerals. Could you talk about the mistakes you made in the match?
A: Serral held an edge over me all the time in that game. I should have taken his bases faster.
Q: You would be playing for GSL later. Do you think you will play well?
A: Winning WESG really gives me a lot of confidence so my goal still is to win GSL this year. If I could qualify for the quarterfinal, there would be a great chance that I would win the whole thing.
Q: Previously you said in the interview that now you no longer like Cyclones as you used to do. But in this series, we saw you still used it a lot. Could you tell us why?
A: You just have to use it sometime.
Q: Many young people today what to join esports. What do you want to say to them?
A: You have to be the best among your peers. Only by doing say could one start thinking about playing as a pro.
Q: You have a large fan base in China. Many of them took flights to see you play today. Talk to them about how you feel now!
A: Although I really wanted to win WESG and thought about this possibility several times, in the end, I still felt surreal when I won the final match. It is simply unbelievable that it occurred to me and now, after calming down for several hours, I finally could accept the fact that I did win the game. I know that I have many fans in China and I am moved knowing that they traveled so far to support me here. I really appreciate their support and I want to play better for my fans!
Q: Last question, last time when you came to China you were watching PD48. Now, who is your favorite girl group?
A: ITZY!
