No worries. Seeing Serral this year he's on at least the same level of last year if not better.

Serral played just 4 series since his HSC win last November and none of them were against tournament contender players...

You can still tell he's in top shape regardless. Also I've seen him stream and he looked amazing there too.

he hasn't streamed at all this year and dropped a map to rail in wcs europe... not saying he's not gonna do well, but i don't know what you've seen this year to think "he's on at least the same level of last year if not better"

Dropping one map to Rail isn't worrying; you should ask yourself why would you expect him to play much worse, actually.
Thus said, we have seen very few of Serral in 2019 so effectively nobody can have a clear idea of his shape.

None of his HSC series were against tournament contender players either. Unless you count INno but he wasn't exactly in impeccable form last year.
Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs

Both Inno and soO have been very solid since the end of November despite an underwhelming 2018 and uThermal is indeed a Circuit contender; not to mention Serral solocarried Zerg in that tournament in which Terran seemed unstoppable while Rogue didn't even make it out of the groupstage.

I don't get why it should be assumed that Serral's form will be lacking merely because we didn't see him play; I can't tell you he is in top shape but I'd expect him to be appropriately prepared for such an important tournament.

Stream was very late last year which is close enough to this year. The problem with people like you is you think you need a larger sample size than you actually do. In what I've seen I can tell he's still in really great shape and it will show in his results this year, you'll see. I do agree we can't tell exactly how good he is yet but we can approximate. I should've said "he's at least nearly as good as last year if not better." I've seen things in his play that look like improvements to me. The map dropped to Rail doesn't bother me. Just a misjudgement by Serral and Rail is a lot stronger than most people think. He bounced back and crushed him the next map immediately.

Well, form in sc2 can change very fast so naturally there are doubts when we haven't seen a player in a while.
Rogue went in 2 months from being a literal bonjwa to losing in the GSL ro32.
Many of the coolest moments in sc2 happen due to worker harassment

That's true but Serral in 2018, throughout the whole year, was at worst shaky against top foreigners and at best literally impossible to stop; quite consistent for sc2, in my opinion.

He did play in WCS Winter looking at least as good as he was in HSC, to me; I can't tell that you he will repeat his BlizzCon run but I would be surprised if he didn't play at his usual level.

Scenario #1: Your Average Code S Finals - (Wiki)PartinG, (Wiki)soO and (Wiki)GuMiho advance.
.
.
.

Once PartinG’s through it will be a simple it will be a simple matter for the loser of soO/GuMiho to sweep through those silly non-GSL finalists and claim the third, and final spot in the big dance.

That happens when you get coffee mid-sentence :D

Great article. So hyped
Go Serral! GG EZ for Ence. Flashbang dance FTW

Fantasy looked like he was still warming up after his military service when he played in GSL. But by the time this rolls around I expect him to be in good form. He’s going to win and it’s not going to be close. Korean Terrans are too good at this game and Fantasy is a Korean Terran x2.
