This thread will remain open for now, but we will keep a close eye on it. If it turns to shit, then we won't hesitate to kill it.

I mean it reveals a lot about him that when he is angry he thinks and says about raping and killing of Korean women, rather than venting specifically about GSL/WCS/SC2/persons directly responsible(or even Koreans in general) for his anger/problems, which would be much more understable and easier (at least in my book) to forgive. The fact that he is targeting something which isnt directly connected to the source of anger is very troubling for me.

OK, It *reveals*... so it must be proved to be genuine at first, right? And even if it's real, circumstance and context is required, right? What if somebody point a gun at his head and force him to type those? What if after all those messages, he actually added another line "If I chat like this and get exposed on the web, will I get destroyed?" but was omitted by the one did the screenshot?

so to the OP, fuck you for thinking i wanted to read this shit. no, i didnt. and mods, wtf?

question if I say a racist joke but its private and I am a public figure to you want to know that I make racist jokes?

no. that shit is for gossip rags. whether TIME is a racist or a sexist or an angel, it has nothing to do with me watching him play starcraft. i'd watch a murderer play starcraft. i dont care. the two have nothing to do with each other

this is an sc2 forum, not a gossip forum. if you care about personal lives of starcraft players then discuss it somewhere else

really so say a leader at a local state or federal level thinks it ok to make racists jokes ur ok with that?

when i'm making decisions on my votes for elected officials, part of that is judging how much they care about the people they're representing. that's relevant to their jobs. if they hate some of the people whose interests they're responsible for protecting, then i wouldn't vote for them. they won't fulfill the duties of their job. so what does that have to do with sc2? if an sc2 player doesn't respect women or koreans, how will that affect his micro, macro, strategy?

if someone is behaving well now then im not going to stop them because they behaved poorly in the past. so if a rapist can entertain me by playing sc2 well, how am i helping myself or him or the world by making him stop? if you are the one wanting to do harm (stop him playing sc2) in response to the harm he did before (raping someone), then you have to justify the harm you are doing. i dont have to justify not doing harm... by simply paying taxes to a government that has a system of law enforcement and justice, i've done my part. i elect officials to guide those systems to be the best they can be. as a citizen, i do not attempt to make up my own legal punishments. it's not my responsibility and i have no problem not caring about it

most people practicing social justice are in reality practicing social punishment. they are the ones in need of a lot more justification for the harm they do to people.

if they are to set TIME up there's no use saying anything. Anyone from China can see that this is very misleading translation. Someone know they cant ruin TIME in China so they try to ruin his career oversea. After there's a Chinese Team League upcoming and killing TIME, the best player in China, may be the right way to ruin the League

if they did something socially unacceptable, then take it up with other people enforcing social justice. there are a ton of communities interested in enforcing social justice on gamers. this is not one of them

if they did something illegal, then let the justice system take care of it

it has nothing to do with sc2

he is a professional gamer and in a team, from SC2.

if an actor did/say something racist at this level, I have no reason to doubt he/she would be punished, by sponsors or agent.
I don't care if what was said happened in private or public time.

I expect the same here in SC2 scene.

Let me clear it up, because i feel like i am behind on this drama.

A guy said some gross stuff in private chat.

Said private chat got ratted out.

???

Drama!

Well, okay, who actually cares? I mean, sure, the sponsors that care about mythical thing called "advertising", probably do, but what living being is pathetic enough to actually care?

is calling out a person for saying that "injust social punishment"?

i think "calling out" is fine but practitioners of social justice do not just call people out. but again, i do not feel obligated to weigh in on what i think is the correct amount of social punishment for this or that. i can express the opinion that i've seen social justice react inappropriately without having to go into granular detail of what i think an appropriate reaction is to every transgression. the people doing the harm have to justify themselves

what i think goes wrong with social justice: they punish people because they think it will act as a deterrent so that the harm they cause is improving society in the long run because it'll deter worse acts in the future. that whole approach is of very questionable efficacy and requires a lot of justification. but they don't care about justifying themselves fully because they have a mob mentality and because the victims of their harm are people who have done bad things (though there is also collateral damage, which they don't seem to care about). and ultimately because they don't do illegal things, so they believe they're just behaving how they're entitlted to.

i think "calling out" is fine but practitioners of social justice do not just call people out. but again, i do not feel obligated to weigh in on what i think is the correct amount of social punishment for this or that. i can express the opinion that i've seen social justice react inappropriately without having to go into granular detail of what i think an appropriate reaction is to every transgression. the people doing the harm have to justify themselves

what i think goes wrong with social justice: they punish people because they think it will act as a deterrent so that the harm they cause is improving society in the long run because it'll deter worse acts in the future. that whole approach is of very questionable efficacy and requires a lot of justification. but they don't care about justifying themselves fully because they have a mob mentality and because the victims of their harm are people who have done bad things (though there is also collateral damage, which they don't seem to care about). and ultimately because they don't do illegal things, so they believe they're just behaving how they're entitlted to.

What do you mean by social justice? Is this thread an act of social justice? Are we punishing him now, just by talking about what he said, and we need a lot of justification for that?

I don't see how the posters ITT have over-retaliated towards TIME so I don't get what this discussion of the greater social justice "movement" has to offer.

i dont see why this thread is open. some guy read something bad, thought it was bad, and now wants all of us to read it too. it's like a comedy bit i saw once where someone at a dinner eats something awful and their first reaction is to get everyone else at the table to try it, and one by one they each try it and say it's awful and encourage the next person to try it.

so to the OP, fuck you for thinking i wanted to read this shit. no, i didnt. and mods, wtf?

question if I say a racist joke but its private and I am a public figure to you want to know that I make racist jokes?

no. that shit is for gossip rags. whether TIME is a racist or a sexist or an angel, it has nothing to do with me watching him play starcraft. i'd watch a murderer play starcraft. i dont care. the two have nothing to do with each other

this is an sc2 forum, not a gossip forum. if you care about personal lives of starcraft players then discuss it somewhere else

if they did something socially unacceptable, then take it up with other people enforcing social justice. there are a ton of communities interested in enforcing social justice on gamers. this is not one of them

if they did something illegal, then let the justice system take care of it

it has nothing to do with sc2

he is a professional gamer and in a team, from SC2.

if an actor did/say something racist at this level, I have no reason to doubt he/she would be punished, by sponsors or agent.
I don't care if what was said happened in private or public time.

I expect the same here in SC2 scene.

Its not the proper way to vent Your anger.

What if after all those messages, he actually added another line "If I chat like this and get exposed on the web, will I get destroyed?" but was omitted by the one did the screenshot?

if they are to set TIME up there's no use saying anything. Anyone from China can see that this is very misleading translation. Someone know they cant ruin TIME in China so they try to ruin his career oversea. After there's a Chinese Team League upcoming and killing TIME, the best player in China, may be the right way to ruin the League

the translation is quite on point.

那照你这样说生气的时候在朋友面前骂两句操你妈也该被惩罚 带网友你来辣

English only site.

Fuck your mum is a common swear word.
Fuck the korean bitches is not, Fuck them till they faint is at another level.

Everyone here bashing TIME should post the most political incorrect conversation they've ever held publicly right now.
But I guess you're all angels and have never held a political incorrect conversation, right? Never used a slur word while talking to friends?
Many of the coolest moments in sc2 happen due to worker harassment
