Special played great, but Classic has been a foreigner punching bag this year lol.

Actually only lost to serral 1-3 and reynor 1-2 0-2 before this so a "punching bag" ehh...
why even

Man everyone forgets him 3-0'ing Serral. If Serral had won that match people would still be talking about it lol.

Well serral got revenge just 2 weeks later, so that is what stuck with people more I guess.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Neeb crushed Serral 3-0 just a couple weeks ago. Even the best lose sometimes. Alternatively, Classic losing to Reynor and now Special diminishes Reynor's victory over Classic even more and shows that he is in a pretty weak state right now.

He just won Super Tournament a few weeks ago.

Does it? Reynor was one map away from beating Serral in a WCS final. The kid is sick good and he played like it against Classic too.

I do wonder with whom the players will be practicing for the ro8. If all JAGW players are in Anaheim then Maru, sOs and Rogue should be fine. Special will have plenty of eliminated Protoss players to play with but Stats may have trouble finding a Terran partner besides TY who still need to practice TVZ.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Reynor and think he is a monster. I'm more emphasizing that Classic has been beaten by quite a few foreigners lately and looks weak against them. It would be interesting to hear his thoughts on to why he has become vulnerable to the west.

Hype for the finals Maru – Serral, where in a 7-game nailbiter the best player emerges as victor.

I feel like people predicting sOs will beat Maru or give him a hard time haven't watched his games vs Heromarine.

The ping to Korea is not that horrible so I imagine for example that Stats will call up guys like Innovation to practice cross server a bit.

Also the bracket is great.

Anyone can lose 3-0 in an online event and no one cares. The ro4 of Katowice is a bit different. People didn't stop talking about Serral even making the ro4 basically until he won GSL vs The World.

Reynor played really well against Classic as well. It's sad to see people labelled him as weak because of a ro32 loss like that.
Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs

sOs beats another defending champ and the 3rd Zerg for his 3rd Blizzcon title xD

Is that you Artosis?

Tbh, Artosis praising sOs is the thing that worries me more than anything else xD

He's not wrong though. Outside of a clever takedown of Zest, sOs looked quite bad in the group stages. Nevertheless...a lot can change in a few days with players of his calibur. At the very least, Maru is in some very real danger given that it's a teamkill and all their encounters this year have been pretty competitive.

Tbh I don't really like this bracket for Serral. He hasn't lost a lot of ZvZ series, sure, but he looked very vulnerable in it at the last WCS. I hope he can beat Dark, but I wouldn't bet on it. After that, I hope he meets TY even if that lowers his chances, it would be a nice test if he actually meets Maru in the finals. But Maru has a really tough bracket too, I think a grand final with neither Maru nor Serral is not that unlikely.

I was wondering about that for Dark. There are plenty of foreign Zergs at Blizzcon who will likely help Serral, but I'm not sure who would practice with Dark. Cross-server with soO?

But the foreigners he's been beaten by are the best of the best unless there's some match I'm missing. Reynor was arguably an engagement away from being the GSL ro8 in first place over Maru, and Special is one of the best foreigners out there as well
