I was just wondering, since we have seen that the reapers and collosus and w/e can jump/walk over cliffs, is it possible that they can walk over walls?
The walls I'm talking about are like, in Tau Cross. So far we have only seen the collosus and reapers able to jump up terrain one step, but can they fly over the walls and then land? It is in my opinion that they would still have to land before transferring to a different ground level because that is what we have seen already. If they could go over the wall and back down without landing once, iunno, because so far we haven't seen it and they can only move so far.
If this is true that they can't transverse over two terrain types, then we can still have bases that are safe from easy harrassments from (what seems to be) early game units like the reapers.

Hmm interesting idea. I think they wont be able to leap over a wall as it seems that they need to land as you said. very interesting, we'll just have to wait and see.

Or you could post something constructive other than taking up room and making an ass of yourself.
On topic, It seems like things can walk a lot closer to the edges than before (note the collosus after the ling attack. Maybe they will implement a two level drop/raise in terrain instead of doing steps that you /can't/ land on.

There is no point in speculating about this until we have seen more videos of the gameplay.

The jetpack dudes looked like they could jump anything, ie they can move anywhere except water/space.
The Protoss walker thing can just walk up the short ledges I think.
Thats my 2 cents in the speculation.

Yeah, but a map like Tau Cross. It applies to any map that is similar to it. And this is just speculation, because I'm just saying that we can keep it a little more balanced if we find that the reapers are too imba or w/e and wait for them to fix it.

How do you propose we find they are imba from speculation? It's fine to discuss, but do not even begin to think that blizzard is going to overhaul a unit just because some guys on TL speculated that a unit might be imba.

Starcraft was really imba until about 8 patches came out... I believe SC2 will be VERY imba with all these new strategies and tactics that will be implemented, but I'm just saying that a patch usually fixes it. Most beta players don't find imbas for some reason, I didn't say Blizzard should delete it or something... This thread was meant to discuss whether the reaper could jump over it and how it can affect the gameplay (especially since that will mean they can jump pretty much all terrain but water/space unless there is a 'new' type of high terrain.

The wall on Tau is just a thinned version of a high dirt/outpost terrain.
So by definition of Col n Reapers able to jump to different terrain, it can jump over the "wall"

Maybe reapers won't start off with jetpacks and you'll have to research them later, sort of like how rines don't start with stims and U-238s

The terran wall would be Useless, with the collosus and reapers.. Having to be a Toss player myself, i know how Protoss hates "the Wall"

Uhh, there won't BE maps like tau cross and even so; the game will be completely different so things that would be imba in sc1 don't apply to sc2 since its a completely different game.
And I should think the progamers and professional testers would have thought through the obvious things that you guys are whining about.

Why should the terran want to wall in sc2? If he does, why should it be necessary to wall and use it until a protoss gets colossus'?
