With the first group already in the books, (P)sOs began his GSL campaign, his eyes on a return trip to the finals. Joining him in Group B were (P)Dear and (Z)ByuL as well as the foreigner, (Z)SortOf.

(Wiki)2018 Global StarCraft II League Season 1

SortOf won game one with a lethal roach/hydra attack after countering sOs' adept pressure, but was bounced to the loser's match after failing to bottle up the very same build with hydra/ling/bane in games two and three.

ByuL’s brood lords put him on the doorstep of victory in game one, only for a host of stalkers and a few carriers to swing things the Dear’s way, whose ultimate army filled with high templars put him up 1-0. He finished off the match with a glaives timing that broke ByuL at his third.

Dear's adepts and sOs' oracles killed penty of probes, but game one was decided when Dear’s two base immortal timing on sO's third was swatted back. sOs closed out the game before winning a phoenix vs phoenix war on Blackpink which sent sOs through in first place.

Behind on supply, ByuL turned game one against SortOf on its head with a multipronged burrowed roach move that sniped the Swede’s fourth and put him up 1-0. Game 2 saw SortOf's ravager based all in fall flat, allowing ByuL to mass roaches and move on to the final match.

Dear took game one despite throwing away a number of carriers, but ByuL’s brood lords got the better of Dear in game two. Dear denied ByuL the comeback on Catalyst when ByuL’s baneling drops failed to stop Dear’s adept/immortal timing, sending Dear to the Round of 16.

Thanks for the recap. Small mistake :
sOs closed out the game before winning a phoenix vs phoenix was on Blackpink which sent sOs through in first place.

The phoenix vs phoenix was on Neon Violet Square, and the "was" seems out of place.
E : i guess it should be "phoenix vs phoenix war" ?

You mean "let's give nerds something to read and wait for criticism?"

I once actually contributed to an article that way AMA.

Not exactly a surprise.

Kinda disappointed we won't be seeing more of Byul though.

Always fun to see phoenix vs phoenix in PvP. I'm surprised sOs managed to win that one though. IIRC, he was losing a bit on the phoenix count around the second/third engagement and the battle was closer to Dear's base than sOs's. I'll probably rewatch that match to see how he turned it around, but as far as I know, sOs is incredibly good in phoenix vs phoenix.

Man what happened to Byul...like dude went from a killer to slump city so quickly. It just doesn't make sense. Leenock retires, plays casually, comes back looking sharp. Meanwhile Byul, who is basically in the same "kind of retired" tier, is looking so weak. It's confusing because he was so damn good not that long ago.

sOs rank no. 1 on Korean ladder wow!

Still disappointed, sOs did not win the odd year's BlizzCon. Is there any pattern, that would support sOs winning BlizzCon this year? Any ideas?

Interesting, but you are missing the 2012+1=2013 ... 2012 nothing. So no.
Maybe
3+5=8?
2013 ... + 2015 ... = 2018 ... but it is not really elegant ...
