MajOr, Elazer, TIME, Scarlett and NoRegret qualified ? How hype is this ?

If you read through the thread, everyone's sad the Korean scene is dead.

I didn't. But yeah that's quite obvious that there is no Korean scene anymore, just some top athletes continuing to wreck faces because they're crazy talented and were trained thoroughly. Otherwise it's a slow decay.

Doesn't change the fact that Scarlett beating Zest to qualify (although I don't know how horrible Zest may have played) isn't a walkover for instance, and that I'll be elated to see Elazer (and the others) against top notch Koreans in GSL format.

Some top 100GM in code S

And Cure still won't make it

Sure, Blizzard is pushing away top 2 terran 2016, top5 zerg, 2016 s1 gsl champ etc from their game just to see scarlett dying in ro32

you are so toxic... I can undestand low tier korean player problems(that is valid argument), but here we have TOP-TOP-TOP players cant win a bunch of non-korens

Cure did not try to qualify? Again because of his girlfriend?

He isnt with her anymore i think, that's why he started practice again+OW.

But look at Myungsik, it's hard to recover.

So yea, the most gifted sc2 player cant make it through code s just because of silly qualifier format

Zest may as well count as a walkover for most players

They are doing the groups based on quality. Rankings. The 5 foreigners all belong into the lowest tier basket, so they will be all in different groups.

I hope Blizzard will open up WCS for koreans in 2018 now, it's totally unfair that foreigners can go to Korea but koreans can't go abroad.

And the viewership sunk anyway since the hard region lock, they can't use that excuse anymore: the scene isn't growing anyway, overall.
I used to organize tournaments for ESL Italy and referee Go4SC2s, WCSs, and IEMs for ESL SC2.

But they will retire before 2018, so we have to deal with it.

The problem is that koreans need those GSL paychecks to make a living while foreigners have already the WCS money.
And Zest isn't really top tier atm.
Many of the coolest moments in sc2 happen due to worker harassment

The current WCS system is a 2-year deal. It'll be the same in 2018 it is now.

I hope so too. You can have 8 places for Koreans in WCS events. Everything is global, everything is fair.
