Another vortix imo, will come, get ass kicked few times, back to retirement. Yeah wow. Someone who was/is super important to the Starcraft scene is coming back to maybe give it another shot, that's totally not news worthy.
What makes him super important to the scene? Genuine question as I'm very interested in finding out.

Oh dear God, he won a tournament in 2009. That's superduper important, thank God game didn't collapse while he was in the retirement.

Please just leave this thread, why do you feel the need to ruin a genuine good moment? If you don't like it, just don't open the thread and avoid comments..

Why should I leave this topic? It's just funny that he achieved/did nothing in sc2 and yet u all behave like some kind of god is coming back.
I guess if fe Naama returns there is gonna be a topic also? After all he won the first dh, so he is entitled to it following tl logic.

A better way to think about it is that he was the best non-Korean player for a while, during a pretty competitive time (IdrA, SEn, Jian Fei, Mondragon etc).

I understand the point that you're trying to make with respect to his lacking SC2 career. The reason people are as respectful and potentially excited when it comes to NonY, is that he looked more impressive in BW than any SC2 foreigner has looked in SC2.
It's impossible to tell whether determination alone will allow him to reach the same level in this game, but the potential is there.

Wasn't some Chinese the best non Korean player?

F91 did amazing in Liquibition in head to head showmatches against those top western dudes, but then failed to deliver in pretty much every subsequent "big" / "real" tournament. So it's hard to say.

He was one of the best foreigners in the BW scene, is a former member of the TL pro team, is an active poster on the forums and seems like an all around good guy. That's reason enough to feature the thread, despite his lack of results in SC2.

Another vortix imo, will come, get ass kicked few times, back to retirement. you may be completely right about what will happen with his career. hell, you probably are. personally i'm not even much of a fan of nony based on the way i've seen him post on the forums.
but i have to ask: what exactly are you contributing by making this post? do you feel smart? do you want nony to feel bad about himself for playing the game? do you feel entitled to something here? i just don't get what you're going for here. just feel like making people listen to you?

people can trash the guy's SC2 career if they want... however, his feedback to Blizzard about game balance and mechanics changes is top notch.
having an additional voice of reason.. having a guy who can see the forest through the trees while providing feedback to Blizz ... is all good stuff.

Your idiotic logic (why play if you are not the best?) is in effect in the scene at the moment - only bunch of best players left with little to no lower level ambitious players.
If you don't care then why even read this topic? And yes, I'd personally be happy if Naama started playing again, Tarson can play again too, as well as dozens of others

I'm just saying that you are being overly negative about this thing. Nony returning is pretty cool for some of the community, so we put it in community news, that's all. It's not like we have 45 interviews and 37 photoshoots lined up. Some of us are excited, if you are not, that's totally fine, but you don't have to be a debbie downer either!

Welcome back. Best of luck to you.
