As mentioned before, KeSPA will strengthen its partnership with its members, game developers, and local/foreign partners to further grow eSports. We hope that StarCraft ProLeague will live on in the memories of its players, fans, and all affiliated parties as an invaluable asset that pioneered the eSports industry and contributed to establishing competitive gaming as a mainstream culture in Korea So they're done with SC2 and moving on to MOBAs 6 years too late then? Or maybe Overwatch. This is sad but it is no surprise. Outside of SC2 sites SC2 doesn't exist anymore. It's hard to run a league without sponsorship and it's hard to get sponsorship when you're competing against games that offer better audiences for sponsors advertisement. We can bicker until the end of time as to why StarCraft 2 did not live up to the expectations of fans and the popularity of Brood War, but at some point we will all accept that it has been a commercial success for Blizzard, and a failure for fans. | ||

frustration with Blizz aside, I had a blast playing and watching early/mid WoL. I wasn't as active by the time that Proleague came to Sc2, but I have a lot of love for it from my BW days. End of an era. A long time coming perhaps, but still sad. | ||
